IF you look at some of the shots you can see the water shooting through the switchblade, making the wave steep and were going about 13 plus mph.

So what prop and engine are you running with all the weight and going 13mph? I have the 315 hp with the most extreme prop and I run around 2k in ballast plus a few peeps and my boat struggles around 11.5. How are you keeping the bow rise down? The blade also has to be a huge power killer. Does your perfect pass jump around?

I have read on most forums that comps are being pulled around 10.5-11.5. Can anyone confirm that? Why don't you say what prop you are running? What does special mean?

Its not a prop for a wakeboard boat, when you go faster in my boat it makes the wave longer, more like surfing ,when ive rode boats that run that speed I only get two carves in before I do a trick,on my boat you carve 5 or six carves before you do a trick, thats more like surfing.

Duffy, you're about right in that. We normally pull no lower than 10.3 and go up to about 12.5 or so depending on preference/amount of weight. (Typically faster with the bigger boats with more weight in them).

I ride surf for sure and so does Rob. I get at least 3 big pumps out of my wave. Mine is very similiar looking to yours. I have never tried surfing at higher than 12.5

yeah with a 315 with alot of weight you wont be able to.I was having a hard time on my friends boat with the same engine with alot of weight.sometimes I wouldnt be able to get enough speed.I think the board rob is riding is pretty much a hybrid, that is half skim half surf, like my board you cant ride it twin fin it will just slide out.

On my boat I go ~12, but my boat isn't what we use in contests. I ride a pretty dedicated surf board, a 4.5 bullet with 4 fins, it is just not on campus with me right now. We have a whole mix of styles, and varies by skill level as well, but definitely go slower for the skim boards. (Message edited by wakesurf_ohio on June 02, 2009)

When we towed the Tulloch contest with the Wake Surf Mag's 24' enzo the speeds were 9 mph for skim style,13.7 mph for surf style

I tried riding at 12 yesterday and I felt like my airs were easier, but it really made the wave shrink from my normal 10.7

We ride @ 11.5-7. Anything above that and we get spray from the other side. What do you guys mean when you say you couldn't go over a certain speed? James, your prop is a secret? That's just silly.

Its just a diffirent prop,I went and got the best prop for for a wakeboard boat and my boat would still vibrate,so I got a prop for a speed boat,my friends boat would nt going faster because we had to much weight, but when you set up alot of weight right the wave is bigger.

The wave is going to be smaller to when your going faster, when we drive 11 the wave looks like hawaii 5 0,and it wants to throw you on the swim deck.

Ya James, the weather has been awesome for riding out here lately. Lots of sun and not alot clouds. We've night surfed a few times, but not as long we'd like since we don't have any lights in the water. After seeing that thread on the lights in the boats section here, I think we may be night surfing alot now. What lights did you get? Oh ya, How much ballast are you running in your boat now?

I finally figured out what you meant by can't go faster that a certain speed. I had way too much weight in the back of the boat trying different setups and it literally wouldn't go over 11. LoL.

When that happens you can throw the smallest person in the front and it will give you more power.

1800 factory plus a 80% full enzo sac and 500 in the front. A ridiculous amount of weight, but it was just to test a couple of setups. We use about 2500 normally. No trim tab. (Message edited by Rhawn on June 11, 2009)

Here's the wake with the new weight, we were able to add alot of distance to the wave. Could be alot better IMO.
