Well....the second boat in a row, they blew it. Where is the back seat, why does the engine box have to come out like that, makes it look like a cheap bayliner IMO. I have never been a fan of CC for my own experiences with them, but I can honestly say, the last two boats they have made, they have dropped the ball

What did they do to the bow seating? Why would you take up that much space for a couple of cup holders? It doesn't even look wide enough to stretch out up there...

I do like the interior. It is different, but good. And, as some have said, not as bad as the 220. From the pictures, the fit and finish appears to be the standard top notch...

It looks like the dash would be hard to view for the tall folks. It doesn't appear as though the gauges have any up-tilt to them at all. Maybe they want you to drive that thing laid-back...

I think I like everything minus:

1) the notched out rear seats. I think the extra 5 or 6 inches are not needed. I would rather have a straight bench back there when not in the rear facing setup.

2) the squared out dash. I prefer a sleek low profile dash.

3) tower is a bit like a jungle jim.

4) ? (have not experienced the wake).

It appears that the driver may have more windshield view over the new dash (just checked mine, it sits up over 50% of the windshield).

I really like the feature where the spotter seat has a place to put their legs now, very nice design IMO! I just wonder if there is enough room or not.

One cool thing about the new dash is it is lower than previous ones. It probably won't get in the way as much when the bow rises.. especially when wakesurfing when the boat is bow high the whole time..
I never noticed it much on my SAN until I drove a MC..Their dash is much lower and totally out of the way when the bow rises..

Honestly the look of the dash is growing on me, and the boat looks to be very functional.
I can't wait to see one in person..

I also like the fact that there are no more built-in coolers. In this picture you can see the full sized cooler that is accessible through the door in the walk through! Nice amplifier rack too.

I wonder if the cooler is easier to pull out than the 220's? Its tougher than putting socks on a rooster. LOL

You think its nice that you have to load a cooler under your passenger seat? That looks like a pain in the rear to me. You now have two doors to get to your beverage
Old     (woreout)      Join Date: Aug 2006       10-17-2006, 10:31 AM Reply
Its seems to be a bigger cooler in mine, so you dont have to restock as often. When you need a drink you just lift the seat, the 220/210 you have to reach under, can't really see in the top to see what your grabbin. What if you have towels, pfd's etc under there as well. Or do you only put a cooler under there that will more than likely bounce around or tip over? The X is securely in place. I do think the 210 looks better than the 220. Great Quality as well I'm sure.

It looks like once the cooler is in, you can access the cooler from here?

Thats more difficult than it looks, at least it is on the 220. Maybe the door is bigger now.

The most functional "built in cooler is in my Ski 196...it's in the floor, it's next to the driver, and it drains into the bilge to be pumped out.

Built ins are a little overrated. If you leave the boat in a lift, you are carting a cooler to the boat anyway. It really is only of value if you are trailering to the lake. Most of the builtins...especially the new x2 are under seat. Someone has to move to get beverages. Bad idea. It's a nice boat. I am wondering about MSRP though.

Check out the side by side. Looks like they not only extended the interior back but also moved the windsheild forward. An even bigger swim deck?

great! more room for freeloaders and less room for ballast

smart on the side by side pictures. the boat looks wider through the middle and yea it looks like theres more people space.

i'm not as big a fan but only because i think the old 210 is like a legendary boat. I mean to me it has always been what the pros rode behind until the new pickle fork came out. i mean watch boombox or some of the older vids and everybody rode the 210. i would take an old over a new.

"great! more room for freeloaders and less room for ballast" - Scott (K.B.C.) (sperbet)

The ballast is now in the floor I am told instead of in the lockers. It should be really easy to add sacs to the those long compartments that extend under the seats and into the V-Drive compartments.

the side-by-side explains my earlier comment about the interior looking like a 23 footer. It's a cab-forward design. When you see the wraparound start heading back toward the drivers seat, it looks like a big boat.

The bow seating is more sculpted, kind of like a hot tub. I wonder how practical it is for 2 or 3 adults to sit up front. Could be good for kids or a some petite ladies.

I could be wrong but the bow configuration looks like the same as in the SV-211. If that is the case there should be tons of people who can give opinions on whether the bow configuration works or not. It seems that CC is trying to use the same parts throughout more and more boats.

Here is the SV-211...the bow looks the same to me.

Also by looking at the specs for the new SV-211 and the 210 I bet the boats share even more...interesting!

Another issue with the rear "confinement" chairs -- its seems to me that they need to be used as pairs (both or neither) otherwise the boat will be out of balance.
Old     (fox)      Join Date: Jul 2002       10-18-2006, 7:02 AM Reply
Realistically, I think in those rear seats you will find people sitting facing forward and stretched out, as in cruising back to the dock, or you will see them sitting facing back at the rider. Looking at them, there is no leg room if you were facing side to side.

I think if you only had one person in the back you would probably have that because the "stadium" is full and the observer is full. There would be a lot more weight to starbord in that case and likely not a problem. I wish this were one of the wave of new 20 footers...darn lake restrictions!

When do we get a wake report?
Old     (byrd)      Join Date: Dec 2005       10-19-2006, 11:21 AM Reply
Red, do you know how many people its rated for. When I looked at the 211, it was rated for 9 and was just not enough. I also hated the removable back seat. I knew I would break it . One thing that concerns me is how the new manufacturing process will hold up over time, and no one has a clue about that. Plus it seems that the new process will be cheaper in the long run for them but will that savings be passed along to the customer? I would bet not....
Old     (san210nut)      Join Date: Sep 2006       10-19-2006, 11:31 AM Reply
I think it is rated for 10, but am not totally sure. When I went on the tour of the new factory they said the quality would not change since the actual manufacturing process itself has not been changed only the "staging" as they called it. Supposedly they re-worked their entire supply chain. As long as the Meloons are there I don't have to big of a concern as far as quality goes. The two SANS that I have rebuilt were built amazingly well and held up very well even after being capsized.

Everyone notice they got rid of the clamb shell passenger seat? I like the boat but the dash is horrible. Why would they round off the ballast gauges and square off the dash? Pick one CC, perferebly rounded.

hahaha. I heard that next year they will put daytons on the trailer and plush out the interior. And you can get your own customized gold dipped sign to show proudly over the engine compartment.

Put an '05 or '03 tower on that and it would be awesome..
For some reason the '06 '07 tower isn't growing on me.

I love the tower on the '06 boat that I ride in. It's super strong, sturdy and doesn't sway near as much as the others do! A wider tower is a more stable tower!

I do have to agree on the 06 tower, very sturdy, and after getting over the fear of it falling on my boat, its easy to lower with one person too. and, Yep, im gonna say it, I THINK IT LOOKS GOOD!!

After being on the fence, I finally saw the rear seat. That takes away the "lounge" aspect of the interior of the boat for me. the rear facing seating is a good idea, but I dont see the need to reengineer the entire layout just to get some back rests up. I have always liked the large sunpad for hanging out, and the storage issue, well, you just deal with it. I am going to have to stick with my 03 hope my value holds up in case I ever have to sell it...

Tho the dash looks a bit different I think they did it like that to try to give a little shade to the gauges so you can actually see them without having to make shade with your hand.
I'm not a big fan of the new CC lines but the wake can fix a lot of things and as far as the tower.....It's a classic CC look, just make it taller!!!

Can't wait to see the tower choices...
