I am trying to run six 2way 6x9's off 2 channels. The amp is a PPI 4125. I have been told my some car audio professionals that this amp can handle a one ohm load. Does anyone know if this will work.

I solved a similar problem with 6 4ohm tower speakers running into a 2 chnl amp good to 2ohms

I seriesed 2 and then paralleled that pair with the 3rd. Then repeated same on with other side 3. This gave me right at 2.3ohms per/chnl.

What's the specs of those speakers: driver ohms, max watt, RMS, ect. what's the specs on that amp at a 2ohm load.

The speakers are rated a 4ohms, 80 watts rms, 160 max. The amp is 2 x 250 at 2 ohm load.

I am pretty confident that the amp can push the six speakers at 1 ohm while usuing parallel wiring.

It will drive the 6 speaker, but will run hotter and be a little stressed.

With the series/parallel as mentioned above, you will net very close to the 80w/RMS which is where you want to be IMHO. At 1ohm, I think you will be driving those 6x9's at near, or slightly over, peak all the time.

I'm no expert, so hopefully someone else will chime in with some thoughts/ideas.

Get the speakers to a 6 Ohm load, either by wiring 2 sets of 3 in series (12 Ohms) and then those 2 sets in parallel (6 Ohms). Or wire 3 pairs in parallel for three 2 Ohm loads, then those 3 sets in series for a 6 Ohm load. Then run the whole thing off the 2 channels bridged. It's the safest and loudest way to run your setup without a doubt. If the amp really pushes 125RMS x 2 at 4 ohms, you should be pushing a little over 300 watts to the setup, which is 60 watts RMS per speaker. You might be able to run it a one ohm but unless you have 14 gauge speaker wire or larger it won't be worth it (unless you have 6 pairs of individual wires to the speakers through the tower).

To be honest, you need a little bit more power to get the most out of those speakers. You should ALWAYS have twice the RMS power available that the speakers are rated for if you want to avoid clipping distortion.
