Memphis Marine Tower Speakers

Getting ready to setup our boat with tower speakers, amp & sub so I have been looking at everything out there. My audio guy presented these as an option.

I like the Exile XM-7's but they wont fit an Axis tower with 2 7/8" tube. Also like the Bullet 770 HLCD as there is alot of good feedback on these and I like the look. I think the Memphis tower speakers are new for this year so there may not be many with experience listening to these. I'm curious how they will compare to the others mentioned. They seem to be a little smaller. Is Memphis a respectable brand or more low end. I wouldn't say I'm really an audiophile but mostly want to be able to hear it at 75ft behind boat while boarding. I'll be using the stock MTX for my 6 in boat speakers and stock MTX amp along with the stock Sony headunit. Any info/help appreciated.

Fallguy - I saw the these at CES this year and was initially concerned when I saw their clamp design was what appeared to be a direct knock off of our patented Exile design. It's definitely a copy but it doesn't spin or pass audio through the parts. So in the end it didn't infringe our design patent. From what I saw at the show they sounded fine.

If you want to put XM7's on your Axis they fit fine. We just need to ship your gear with the 3" clamps.

I have used memphis for my current and last 2 boats and have always had good luck with them. It seems that their product has improved over the last few years. I use their 15MM82 for my tower speakers now and would be very interested if they are going to make an 8 " HLCD, I'd be sold.
