Here's my latest try with Premier. I think I'm getting a little better at it, but you be the judge. The rider is Rob - Tampa, FL. http://www.wakepics.com/view_single.php?medid=10228 Opinions welcome.

nice vid. Switch 3...nice. That first switch roll was huuuuuuuuuge. The only complaint I have is that the music sounded a little distorted.

hmmm.... I guess that audio distortion could have happened in compression. Anyone have a suggestion on how to fix that? Where's DVD when you need him? lol

I just downloaded the vid off wakepics and watched it from there - the sound wasn't too bad in my opinion. I think that's as good as it's going to sound as a file under 10mb. Thanks again for the feedback - and yes, that roll was huge - we did a "whooaaaaaa" when he got up that high...

David - the vids are getting better! Try to keep a consistent flow between the HS and TS jumps and work on keeping the camera steady. Otherwise this is good start and overall the sound was fairly decent. 5 days and counting...

Thanks man. I'm counting down. Went out on Monday afternoon and took a half day with Dave Briscoe to get a few more skills before I go out and throw my 180s next to Matt's air mobe...lol.

David, I usually push the file size to the limit (17 or 18 megs) to try and squeeze out every bit of quality. Also, in Pinnacle Studio 8, audio and video have their own adjustments.

The program I use (Studio 8) has specific adjustments for audio and video. If visual is more important, I can turn the audio qaulity all the way down. Studio let's you adjust file output anywhere from 3 megs all the way up to hundreds of megs, and everywhere in between. I don't have to compress it. It asks me how big I want the file before output. Great job by the way. I liked how you used some video fillers instead of cutting straight to the wakeboarding.

I'm using Windows Media Encoder (an older version that works with my OS). Thanks for the comment J-Rod and mango.

J-Rod, I thought you gave up studio 8. Or is that just like when i drink and then say i'll never do it again. (Message edited by shutupandboard on March 31, 2004)

Cool, just too bad you have to ride in such lousy conditions.

It's pretty good most of the time - just kind of depends on the wind. You can always find at least one little spot where it's nice though....

Jeremy: I decided to stick with it though one more project, which was the summer 2003 video. By the time I was done, I had figured out most of the pitfalls in the program. Now I know how to avoid crashing the program and corrupting the files.

I think you did a good job for a non-friendly program. It's alot to learn, I need to take another lesson from Josh Fisher. Good job and nice riding.
