Cliff, you gotta give him a little more credit than that. The speed, power and vision he runs with is amazing. He has an unbelievable ability to cut while accelerating like nobody else in football.

Holy crap, I didn't see his big run until just now. He donkey punched like 3 guys on that run. He is beyond good. If he ever learns to catch the ball out of the backfield and pass block he will be the MVP every year. As is if he stays healthy he will go down as the best "pure running" running back ever.

It would suck so bad to be a Safety trying to make a 1 on 1 tackle on him. You wouldn't know if he was going to just run you over like a train, stiff arm you to your back or break your ankle and make you look silly.

^ The Vikes look really good.... and if Harvin can stop dropping balls Favre is going to have a killer season.

The Pack didn't look great but got their win... really didn't seem to be firing at 100% til the end of the game, but the 4th Quater they looked good.... the defense looked awesome.... thanks Cutler!

Been burned too many times buying into the latest greatest phenom who's gonna make history. Running backs don't impress me anymore, offensive linemen do.

Boy, I knew McNabb wouldn't last in Philly and Vic would move to the front. But one and done? Interesting to see what they do this week with McNabb hurt and Vic is still on the bench.

Didn't realize my boy Galloway had moved to New England either. I love watching him smoke guys ten years his junior.

It's Wednesday folks. Let's get our predictions in...

This week my Hawks roll down to San Fran and hand it to them. They'll have no chance against our offense, and little to no offense against our flying "D"! Hawks 24 - San Fran 7.

Don't get me wrong Willis is a stud I just don't think Mr. Gore is going to like our new outside linebacker. 31-13 Hawks

We looked like ish yesterday. With Matt out we're in limp mode again. I'm hoping Mora gets the fact that Seneca will never be the guy and decides to let Teal get some game time. I honestly think Teal is going to be our future.

Wow a familiar comment coming out of Tony Romo...

"I'm really, really disappointed in myself right now," Romo said. "You work so hard on something and you try to do certain things to change them. It's disappointing and frustrating. I'm really not OK with it right now and I'll try to rectify tomorrow and tonight to get better and improve."

Ugh worst week ever to post a bit of smack on Wakeworld. Curry looked absolutely lost out there on D. Hopefully Mebane and Lofa really mean that much to our run D and it will show back up when they're healthy. Let's hope Hass is back sooner than later too although it didn't look good at the time. I gotta hand it to San Fran they looked mean out there.

HAHHAHAHA Seachicken fans!!! You guys got OWNED by the Niners. Undefeated and RUNNING away with the NFC West. Scott, Great call on Willis owning the Chickens. Only 5 tackles but a BIG one. Niners have faced 2 QB's, and injured them both. Watch out next week Favre....
Old    sperbet            09-21-2009, 4:57 PM Reply
HAHA, nice game Cliff! No chance against that offense huh?

Curry with a huge missed tackle late and a late facemask call as well. Somebody needs to let Hasselbeck know that you DO NOT run towards the middle of the field against the Niners. That guy that roams around out there is pretty gnarly

We'll be tied again next week no worries there. I have a feeling Minnesota won't give up 200 yards on the ground, and Hass is gonna be back and lighting up the Bears.

Brett Favre running 40 yards down the field and launching himself into a block of Patrick Willis is as good as it gets. That is the EXACT REASON I am glad Favre is back in the NFL.

How many times have you seen a QB do something like that....?

Cliff,

I think Mora looks like a duesh. Instead of calling out your kicker, how about calling some plays that go for 7 instead of always settling for 3. I won't watch another hawks game this year after seeing that post game interview. I thought he called a terrible game and deserved to lose.

As a Charger Fan we had to constantly watch the team give up a 4th quarter lead with Marty calling the plays, I see an unfortunate similarity with Mora.

And on another note, the chargers might want to get their heads out of their *** before heading to Pittsburg next week.
Old     (wakeworld)      Join Date: Jan 1997       09-28-2009, 3:05 PM Reply
Damn, that Marty! 14-2 is not good enough. Fire him and start over! :-)

Not when you go back to marty ball and lose in the playoffs with home field throughout. Culpepper was 15-1 with the Vikings but choked in the playoffs as well. Sometimes the regular season record can be deceiving.

Don't think that I am a fan of Smith or even Spanos though, I would rather have seen them go. Turner did a lot with a banged up team in the playoffs last year, but was lucky as hell to get them there, so who knows?
It would be nice if they would figure it out before they start to lose the current talent.

end of rant

I agree that Steve Smith needs the ball more but the offensive coordinator for the Panthers needs to be fired. What ever happened to setting up the pass with the run. Carolina easily could have one of the better power running games with DeAngelo and Stewart (see last year) and still throw the ball around the field. They flat out gave up on the run which was working and made it so Dallas could pin their ears back and blitz Delhomme into three turnovers. Rant from a DeAngelo fantasy owner over.
Old     (zo1)      Join Date: Aug 2002       09-29-2009, 11:34 AM Reply
^^ You need a QB in order to get Smith the ball. Panthers signed themselves to years of mediocre football when they extended Delohmes contract this off season. No Way that guy wins you a SB.

Ok...

Done licking my wounds from last weeks disgrace. I'm picking the Hawks by three against the Colts this week. Why??? I just got a feeling they'll come out flat and under estimate our desire to turn the corner on our recent losses.

unfortunately for cliff, the colts could come out flat for 3.75 quarters and peyton can still get up and down the 4 or five times against the much maligned seagull secondary. i don't know if you still have olindo kicking your fg's up there but it wont matter how many he makes or misses. 3's dont match up well with 7's

There are a lot of teams who truly stink this year and my Cowboys are one of them. I see there's not a whole lot of smack being talked this year fellas, what's up?

It's hard to say that it could be worse but I guess I could be a Rams or Raiders fan. I'm not talking smack with that one it's just that I watch those games every week actually pulling for those teams but they don't even look like they can stumble into a win. The Rams look like they may be the Lions of 2009.

The Cowboys-Broncos game was a battle of who wanted it less! I wouldn't get too excited about 4-0, a listless Cincy team, a victory over the Browns, a win over possibly the worst team in the league and a win against a team who clearly wasn't interested in winning the game. It's hard to argue with 4-0 but given the circumstances, I wouldn't be expecting too much more. When you guys play a team who wants to win a game watch out!!

I came into this season with zero expectations and thoughts that 5 wins was a good over/under number.

So the Broncos are 4-0 and need to get one more win to get their 5 wins... Bet your ass I am excited.

Added bonus, their 4th win came by beating the Cowboys.... That is a cherry on top of this....

On a brighter note, Romo should go back to dating Jessica Simpson. It is clearly the only thing he is good at.
