Have any of you had your Supra Sunsport painted and/or had a quote to do so? What kind of paint did you use? To be more specific I'm curious to know how much the waterline up to the rubrail would cost. Thanks.

interlux perfection is one of the better marine paints, epoxy based. i have no idea what it would cost to pay someone, would definitely depend on how much prep you're willing to do. just the perfection paint would probably run around $500 including most supplies.

How about a boat wrap in stead of painting

Or have it re-gelcoated?

Hey guys, thanks for the info!
Salty, interlux perfection seems like a good possible solution. I posted on tmcowners.com and a couple people liked it. Others suggested imron.
Grant, as for a wrap, the boat is going to stay in slightly brackish water from May through October, so I'm not sure that I wrap would stand up to that as well long term. Please let me know if I'm wrong.
Bill, as for re-gelcoating, not sure what all is involved in that. I didn't think that was possible as the gelcoat is laid up fairly early on in the mold when a boat is constructed. Something to look into I guess.

Anyway, if any of you are interested, I've posted some pics on this thread...

you might need to bottom paint it too. or take it out every pretty often to scrub the bottom. you prob know that already.

from looking at your other thread, i don't know about that price. the exhaust sealant is not original and wouldn't be there if there wasn't a reason. the bilge is nasty, signs of water running down from the motor mount bolts, rust on the fiberglass behind the bottom of the mount. the fiberglass looks to be cracked. if so, water has, or will, penetrate the wood.

$5800 would be too high for me. ..that price is too f$cking high!

that stringer doesn't look good. i've seen that, the exhaust or something is leaking water into that area. the mount bolts hold as long as you don't disturb them much.

that looks like a really big project. unless there aren't any boats to chose from up there, i'd keep looking. paying someone for this work will be painful.
