How many hours do you put on your boat each year?

I'm curious how many hours people are putting on their boats each year. Often when I see boats old boats for sale it seems that people have put only 20 hrs or so on them each year. We put 130 hours on mine between August and the end of November last year (and I still suck!) and I would have liked to have put on more. How many did you log this year?

Along those lines, do you shut off the engine between riders? I'll shut it down if a rope is being switched or if it is going to take more than a minute or two to get the next rider in, but usually leave it running. That's normal, right?

At least 100 but I ride with friends on their boats from fall to spring so that 100 is all from May-September.

90-100, I shut the engine down most of the time. Josh, if you turn the key to the left on your MC you can still run the stereo and your hour meter will NOT run!!

About 115 I will kill the motor anytime we are parked for a new rider. My cousin put 175 on his though

I put around 70 hrs a season on the boat.
I usually try to turn the engine off if we are sat for more than a minute.

owned our boat since 2002, It has exactly 1000 hours. We bought it with 70 hours. Not to mention that I also log a lot of hours on an old 2001.

no idea but I've already put 26 on it this year already!

We put 250 hours between Feb and Oct last year...would have been more but I had surgery

my buddy bought a brand new 21v this year got it in march and we have almost 50 on it so far. Thats scarey.. by the way, we still suck too

2007 I have already put 20 so far.

10 last year...after redoing the whole interior and putting a tower on it. My sprucing up the ole Nautique coincided with my riding partner buying a brand new X2. The choice was very obvious.

does the hour meter run when you have the stereo going, but not the engine?
I only put about 40 per year on mine. I dont get out nearly enough. but that is usually only once per week from March thru november. and only out on the water for 4 hours at the most. our lake gets blown out pretty quick.

I've got an 05 21V with less than 50 hours on it. Bought it new in 05, so I guess that means 25 hours a summer...man these 16 hour work days are killing me.

50-100 here, depending on other commitments and how stoked I am about the lake that year.

Shut your motor off whenever people are near the swim platform. Cheap insurance against carbon monoxide related drownings, and some boats are easy to accidentally bump into reverse.

We've put on 38 hours since we picked up our SAN on Feb 16. I'm figuring we will do 125+ this year.

I picked up my SAN in late December, and we already have 42 hours on it...

April 06 to April 07, 65 hrs, but spent most weekends through the winter doing upgrades instead of riding. Should be closer to a hundred this year.

Around 140. If you don't put at least 100 on it, what is the point of spending all that money.

Consider this, if you are trailering your boat to a lake, you are likely spending the better part of a day. 5-10 hours on the water is only 10-20 visits to the lake a year, which really isn't that many. I live on the water, so my boat only leaves the dock when I do, which is at most an hour at a time. I don't have to hang out on the boat. You'd think I would use it more but life gets in the way.

Also at about 5 gal/hr and $3/gal you are looking at around $1500/year for the 100 hours you might run the boat.

I bought a 1978 searay last year and it only had 396 hrs on the meter. Sad to asy I only added 50 more.

From '02 spring to spring '05 I put 500 on my Sanger. Sooo, basically 2 summers.

From Spring '05 to Spring '07 I put 200 on my Master Craft. We split a lot more time between other peoples boats.

We'll see what we can do with the new X-star this year. I'm thinking we'll do around 200/summer from now on.

Wakeboard school I work for put 550 on a X-Star in 6 months last year. Just got the '07s so they are low hours now.

ummm like 50-60, I know I know I'm a neglectful boat owner. You have to pay for it sometime though.

I bought our boat last may, it had 138 hours on it and it was a 2000 model.

Last year we put about 60 hours on it.

160 last year may-october, 20 so far since march and it hasn't even warmed up here. i shut it down pretty much when ever someone is done riding, unless girls (or i) need the heater. Probably do 200 this year

I averaged 750-850 hrs a year on my last two Malibus.

Malibu told me that no other ski school or owner had achieved that pace.

60 to 70. Baseball and Football compete for water time during the summer

60 hours last year, but this year it is going to be at least 100. Last year was all about overtime and buying things and paying bills.
