I learned to surf this season behind my new X2. First board was an 04' LF Skimskate. Had fun learning on it, but after much deliberation went with an Inland Surfer Black Pearl Yellow. I also just upgraded the ballast to the fly high.

I've been trying the 360 since getting the new board mid-August. Initially tried it with the stock small fin the board comes with. Had a lot of trouble with over-rotation. Tried my friend's older Blue Lake. I was able to break it free 30% of the time and liked how easy it stopped, but never hit one on that. After learning to ride on a skim style board, the long board just didn't work for me.

The BP Yellow came with a set of the white 6.5cm speedlines. I tried those on the outside and the board felt great for slashing and cruising. Had a hard time breaking free though.

Tried just one of the speedlines in the center, and got comfortable breaking her free. Finally hit my first 2 360's yesterday.

Now I'd like some comments on how to make it happen easier. This was the second ever 3 I've hit.

Thanks!

You made it look easy. Got my boat late last month and only got up once and failed on all other tries. Now its 50 degrees at noon and had to get my boat put away for winter. Good job!

very nice and smooth.
I use a P5 with 1" fin so I know about over rotation. Last year I had a Blue lake with speedlines so I know your frustration there too.
You did it great, keep doing it and you'll get comfortable just to throw them anytime. You can then start working on the next trick.

Nice Jerry! Maybe there is still hope for the rest of us . After watching you, I am ready to break out the drysuit and try again.

What should the next trick be? Not sure where to go from here. Worked a little on the 'backwards switch to 180' and just some regular backwards. Thinking of trying a 720 tomorrow with the stock fin.
