Rope Length

Hey gang, quick question. How long of rope for wakeboarding behind a 07 VLX with Illusion X tower at 23-25. Just got it, and never rode behind one before. Thanks!!

I would say to start out at 75', then work out to 80' if needed. I ride at 75' behind ours most of the time. Towards the end of the summer I will usually end up at 80'. It depends if you like landing wake to wake or taking stuff into the flats.

they say the rope should only be as long... as you can go wake to wake both heel and toe side

the VLX has a wide wake

I sometimes ride behind the Texas Mastercraft X-Star....
and am always forgetting how much wider my wake is compared to the sweet wake of the X-Star

do you know what length the pros ride? i heard it was 90' at 28-29 mph is that true??

No 90 at 28-29 is Randall but not a lot of others. my son rides at 87.5 26 MPH behind our VLX. His buddies who I would cal Advanced riders do more like 23 at 75' or 80'

Cliff, that criteria would put me at about 20 feet! But then I'd have to be careful not to hit the tube tied to the back of the boat
