I am curios which route to go,

I cannot afford NVS speakers, so those are out of the question.

I want to be able to hear the music while riding,

1. 4 6x9s?
2. 4 6.5's?
3. 2 outdoor stadium speakers?
4. 2 6.s and 2 6x9s?

I can make the enclosure and fiberglass it myself so that will save me alot of money.

4 6X9's here powered by a 800 watt soundstream but it took a while to build the box. I also didnt have the cash and the box was a good glass project. Build/shape foam core (off ebay) cut holes for speakers and gut foam. Glass in some wood inserts where the speakers mount, as ribs between chambers, and as a backing for the tower clamps. Drill and paint. It did take me a few months and i had some old west marine speakers to get me by so that is why i wasnt rushing it. I used about 5 layers of matt and think with the ribs you could have gone with 4 or maybe 3 if you were careful as my box is solid like a rock but it also weighs 40 lbs loaded.

6 6 1/2 sounds better to my ear. not as much bass but a cleaner sound. dont know cwhere you are, but if your anywhere near modesto ca swing by the shop and i can let you listen to both. i have a display with multiple tower boxes over head so you can get a feel of what it would be like in the boat

Chris,

Thank you for the offer! I used to live in Turlock and I would have loved to swing by. When I come out to the Central Valley I would love to take you up on your offer. Thanks

Thats not their store boat, that is a customers boat from a couple years back. They have a X45 that has six 6X9s.

Mikeski,
Like chas said, thats an old customer pic. Store boet is an X-45, wick I didn't design, so it has 6 6x9's. If I had my say it would of had NVS. But with Isaac saying that they are out of the question, my next opinion is still the 6 6 1/2.

Isaac,
Talked to Jim this morning, he says hello.
