Alright, got tired of searching archives. Im looking at purchasing a 2002 Supra SSV, are there any common issues that this boat has? My main concern is reliability. Thanks

Had an 04, sterring cable went @ 100 hours, tower rattled from day one ( very small tower) , the storage on the boat is sub-par, and the freeboard is very low ( feels like your sitting on the floor)

yeah the storage is pretty small in there. Especially if you have the upgraded ballast bags.

I've never really noticed the tower on my 03 shaking or rattling.

Had an '02 SSV for 3 years. Great boat:

Only problem I ever had was the belt snapped on me at ~ 160 hours, and I really wouldn't call that a problem.

The tower isn't as stable as the newer ones ('05 on), but compared to towers of other boats at that time, they were fine. You can always upgrade the tower if you feel the need.

Low freeboard is pretty common on pre-2003-ish boats as well.

I disagree with the storage comment. My 03 SS has tons of storage in comparison to a 04 VLX. Maybe if you are comparing to the 08 versions then yes I would agree. They are great little boats, I like the old school look they have.

Never noticed a tower rattle on my 03, great engine --storage is not as good as hoped as the ballast takes up most of it but there is still plenty--almost bought an 02 rather than an 03 last year--great boat no regrets
