I'll be moving to one of these states in a few months and I'm looking for some lake/boarding information. Specifically in Spokane, Wichita Falls, and Valdosta areas. Riding season, distance to usable waterways, anything you think might be helpful.

Thanks,
Greg

Stay far away from Wichita Falls.

There is a lake called Arrowhead, real choppy and loaded with Jetski's. 45 minutes away is Possum Kingdom (PK) damn nice lake during the week, loaded with cruisers during the weekend.

If you are in Spokane there is a ton of good riding close by. Lake Roosevelt is about an hour and you can almost always find good water, especially near the Spokane River. Coeur d'Alene is a half hour away with some good riding to be found near the Spokane River portion of the lake. I've heard people talk about Lake Pend O'Rielle or however you spell it. Plenty of water that doesn't seem to get busy near Spokane.

Greg, if you relocate to Spokane there are several lakes w/in 30 mile's or so. Ryan mentioned a few really good places to ride, but there are also a few smaller lakes like Long Lake, Liberty Lake, Newman Lake, the Spokane River and so on that are a little closer to Spokane. The smaller lakes are great for mid week riding. A typical season would be April and May you'll want a drysuit/wetsuit. June through September it's summer and warm. October wetsuit/drysuit depending on how cold you like to be.

Good luck w/ the move!

Oh yeah, if you do go to wichita falls see a few things:

1: the 1-armed stripper at fantisies
2: Red-draws at Bar-L (this is the only drive-up, drink and go home place in texas. They will give you to go cups if you can't finish your beer or have to go.)
