I was just looking at that and want to cry. I just got the 08 a couple months ago (which I freakin love!) but hate the bindings I have on there (07 Zues) Oh well..

I would love to give one of these a shot. Great deal and I looked at the boards the other day at Ambush and I really liked what I saw. I am sticking to one setup this year though and I'm already locked in.

thanks for the heads up, seriously considering.

What are the differences in the boards and bindings from last year to this year? Any major changes besides the binding hole system?
Old     (sidekicknicholas)      Join Date: Mar 2007       05-22-2008, 6:52 AM Reply
07 boards = 08 boards
07 boots --- the 08 boots just added a footbed, and new lacing systens...mounting holes are the same

*07 boards can only use SS bindings, 08 boards can use anything

Great deal. Anyone that hasn't tried one yet, now is your chance. It will probably end up the best $300 you ever spent.

Nick are you kicking yourself for not waiting?

About to jump off the fence and get these but need a little input to pull the trigger.

Is the 142 too big for a 160 pounder? I ride a 137 PS3 and like the size.

If you wear a size 9.5 in most shoes occasionally a 10, go with the size 10? Do they run big or small??

How durable are these bindings? It kind of concerns me that the only ones you can mount on this deck are slingshot so swapping out a busted pair could put you on the sidelines for a while.

Whats the big advantage of these boards? Why are they supposed to be so superior?
Old     (ezekiel700)      Join Date: Jun 2007       05-22-2008, 8:45 AM Reply
Fun extra board I think, good pop and fun on the sliders and kickers. Very durable.

They are superior because they weight next to nothing... super tough, flex, pop like mad, rail machines, just awesome in every way...

I've been on a lot of boards and the recoil is leaps and bounds better than them all

i'd be all over your deal The M's, if i had a big ass foot.

I saw this in the review section for the '07 142:

Slingshot offers a SUPER fun and forgiving ride that I think will appeal to the youngsters as well as the old men (and women), It will also appeal to those who want to improve their confidence in their riding whether it be confidence against back pains or revamping their mind-set to break-free from some of the “pansy-ness” inside and replace it with some courage/ “No Fear” (like myself)

So...

I have two years experience, almost exclusively on a CWB SOL (although I recently started riding it finless). I am not a very aggressive rider and I am also 37 years old so the expectations are not that high although I am still progressing. Basically, I do heel side and toe side wake jumps...getting three maybe four feet of air. Would this board work for me? I am interested in a new board and this seems like a great deal. With the right feedback, I would be willing to gamble without a demo.

The M's, what size boots? You got any pics of the setup? If so please send to sperbet@yahoo.com

My buddy is interested in this setup, but is only 5'8", 145 lbs. I told him I think it's probably too big for him. I've read a few times that you can actually ride the SS a little bigger than normal. Any thoughts from anybody with experience, I've never ridden one. Thanks

nevermind M's, too big...

I've ridden a recoil 142 and I'm 5'8" 140 and it didn't seem big to me, it was really light so I couldn't tell much of size difference....I'm a fan of bigger boards tho and usually ride a Lyman 139.

dex-----i'm in the same boat. im 34 & used to ride the marius for the soft landings. i dislocated my kneecap a few years ago & was timid about taking it to the flats. this board in leaps & bounds softer than the marius. the pop is unlike any other board i've ridden. i havent meet anyone that has tried it & didnt like it. pull the trigger!!

Does anybody know if Boarders Best Buy is usually pretty quick on shiiping?

Chuck, thanks for the input. After hours of research, your feedback put me over the top. Unfortunately, I missed the deal originally posted. I did find the same package for $389 with no shipping which was $49 more than the original deal posted.

I hit the "submit order" button and can't wait to try it. Still haven't told the wifeeee yet. I hope the right moment to break the news on the $350 purchase comes along before the box gets here.

deffinately an awsome deal
saw it before i went to work
and didn't get home till it was all over. I feel bad that i missed all the discussions. at least i had time to tell a few co-workers though.

I am making my own decals for mine (got the '07 142 a while back) that i am pretty excited about. I will post pics when they are done and on the board

just a hint though, I thought the board looked kinda like a blueprint, so my decals are blueprints that i am photoshoping.
