Has anyone ever fixed a loose tilt steering column in a boat?

I would like to know the same. I have the tilt steering. and its a little loose.

But the main thing is when I have weight in the boat. and accelerate. I can hear a rattleing noise in the dash. but the wheel doesnt shake.

My rudder is tight.

If your wheel has a center cap, remove it gently with a standard screwdriver (should pop out)... Underneath that is a big nut, remove that... Inside the column there are either 2 allen head bolts that can tightened OR two nylon threaded nuts of varying sizes OR there's a grease zerk (if so grease it). Put steering wheel and center cap back on...

Note: this is how i've done it on mastercrafts and malibu's...
