Boat is new to me, haven't had any other major problems, but upon starting it up yesterday, I have found that regardless of the position of the throttle, the boat stays in neutral, it won't engage into drive or reverse. At one point I simply turned off the engine and it engaged and was fine for a couple minutes, but then seemed to "slip" back into neutral. I don't know much about the mechanics of the boat, or the transmission - this sound familiar to anyone?

There is a button on the bottom of the throttle that you would push in to rev the engine without engaging transmission. That may be stuck. Just an idea.

find the cable that attaches to the trasmission. Make sure that it is connected, and that it moves when you move the throttle lever.

Check the fluid also.
