With the rain thats has come and the rest on the way hows everyones favorite spots doing so far? I was looking at Don Pedro and its come up about only 3.5 inches this month. It has a long way to go. Better keep the rain coming. How about all the other spots?

You poor guys in nor-cal can't get enough rain all year round to keep the lakes filled because So-cal keeps buying it all to keep everybody hydrated south of Santa barbara. It's a raquet. It sucks. I feel for all of you, being a born and raised nor-cal guy myself.

Luckly for us after a few years of 20 feet below normal levels we now are 15 feet above this point last year. Only thing is its still 20 feet from full.

AMO, So Cal doesn't even buy the water, they get it for free which sucks for us in NorCal even more. This 1 storm won't be enough to keep the lakes filled this summer. Its gonna be just like last summer unless we get more storms like this. This is technically the first real storm we have had all year.

SoCal funded most of the damns/lakes in NorCal. Let's hope this rain keeps up so these lakes are full and you guys stay off the dirty d.

so far so good, the predictions were on, mother nature delivered, 7 feet and now expecting another 3 feet, avalanche warnings going into effect...somebodies gonna die...but we are gaining ground to a "normal" year of precip...more expected again this weekend...stormdoor is open, no high pressure in sight.

here's the snow report from kirkwood... got near 12 feet in the last 12 days! super pow day tomorrow with blue skys...epic! Updated as of Tuesday afternoon, February 17… It has snowed all day, about 6-8 inches, still snowing, but the radar shows this storm track breaking up by this evening, with mostly clear skies tomorrow, should be amazing. We’ve received 30-36 inches in the past 36 hours, 112-142 inches since this all began 12 days ago.

3 to 5 inches of rain coming in maybe more and that equates to 3 to 5 more feet of snow in the Sierra...possible flooding expected in the valley this thing is slow moving and if it hangs out over us could drop even more...rain is predicted for almost 7 days straight so we'll see how much it delivers

I second the frozen solid. We're having about a normal snowfall season, I hope to see a bit more of the fluffy white stuff if only for the lakes. I don't care if it doesn't seep into the ground... I want it to flow at surface into my lake! I could lose another 50' of beach and gain about 3' of water before I'd start to get near somewhat happy.

I was looking at Shasta this morning online. Still a long long way to go. Same still with Pedro. All eyez on me thats a funny story about the Koi. My mom has a Koi pond and I never thought about that happening. I remember being young and hating the rain. Now I got my kids exited about it knowing it will bring a summer of fun.

Rich, Another great thing about rain, if you only have a light rain it's often still great boarding weather. Calm water and hardly any other boats out there! I however cannot promote ice and snow towards good wakeboarding... snowboarding maybe.

I was planning to take the boat out for a test run (added a hydrofoil to my I/O) on Folsom tomorrow. But now my neighbor is coming along for the ride. Hmmm, weather report says 69 degrees. So me + my wife + my neighbor = 3. Dare I get in the water with only my 3/2 wetsuit? I think I'm dying to ride enough to try it.

As long as we get a little more rain Clearlake is good to go! Now we just the need the snow to melt so Pillsbury can tranform from a creek back to a lake.

Dan, it's come up to 33-34%. Still a long way to go. The ground was parched and the rains barely had an impact We need another big storm or two to see some real improvement. Do a google search for "lake nacimiento web cam" and you'll get a cam in Oak Shores.

David, my 3rd (and 4th) ended up having to bail today. So I just went out for the test drive I was planning originally. But, I did still hop in the water with my wetsuit just to see how it would be. It really wasn't bad except for the hands and feet. Might have to invest in some gloves and closed toe bindings. Sorry, I don't have a water temp gauge so I can't tell you anything better than that. I'd ride in it though. By the way, this was over by dike 8, so its probably colder up the river arms.

The Sierra is getting hammered again, expecting another up to 7-8 feet of snow above 7000ft. Shasta rose a foot today, the area got 1-2 inches of rain today and there is a week of this rain expected but not as intense as today...but still the rain is expected for a week more...good news for all the lakes.

I work outdoors a lot and its amazing how much rain I can deal with knowing its helping the lakes and our water supply. Too bad though all the storms over the last month haven't been more intense. It would be way better after a month of rain to have everything full instead of most of the rain totals being less than 100%. Im not complaining but if its gonna rain then rain.

it's actually been a pretty "good" winter, the rain has come in "blocks" separated by nice warm sunny "blocks"...remember January? freakin killer, I do agree though that we need it to just rain cats and dogs...just hitting 100% of normal won't make up for 3 years of drought. then again if we at least hit 100% we don't slide further behind. And there has been almost no bad fog days!!!! or weeks, I hate that stuff.

Rich, I'm guessing a bit but Pillsbury is around 60 to 70% and Mendo is around 50-60%. Pillsbury is actually going back down right now but it should get full or close to full when they slow the release rate.

Stoped raining last year about this time at shasta. Peak water level last year 1006. So we still need 28 more feet. Would be really nice with another 48 feet. I was reading an article from the Redding Searchlight that the snow pack at Mt. Shasta this year was tied for the third worst ever at the time the article came out. Funny thing is the same guys that fight the fires are the guys who monitor the snow pack because they don't have alot to do during the winter.

Shasta has come up 34' so far this month and is at 78' today (level is 988'). We had 4" of rain here in Redding yesterday and the lake came up 3' in one day. Supposed to rain here this weekend as well.

Yeah it basically just hit Redding on its way East, didnt even go far enough south to hit Red Bluff. Poured for a couple hours. Ive never seen it rain like that for more than a couple of minutes. Flooded the campus of the college I work at.
