owc cable collapsing?

first turn tower fell in the water. they say it should be fixed in a week but I cant see that happening, thats alot of work to do.

there are two main cables that hold up each tower, and this tower's cables where connected to two anchors in the boat lake. well one of the cables rusted and broke at the anchor and then it fell.

apparently it was pretty close. so I hear.
I'd just about soil myself if I saw the tower drop infront of me.

i heard it dropped right in front of someone, that the cables holding it up were all rusted out, along with the tower. very sketchy

nah, they'll put new links and cables on it, its the other ones you'll have to worry about. its like mixing russian rullette with wakeboarding, now thats X-treme!

Atleast they're getting the most out of their maintenance dollars. Good thing it didn't hurt anyone or we'd never see another cable park.

The first turn tower has a huge concrete weight that it uses to tension the cables. It has a free wheeling pully so the weight equals the tension on the cable. So it carries twice the load as the rest of the towers. Although the motor tower also has some extra weight.

i am quite amazed that absolutely no one out there has pictures of this....you would figure that it would even get some news coverage and pics could be found that way....seems pretty serious for no pictures being made available.

The reason there are no pics is that there is nothing to see. The tower disappeared totally under the water so all you can see is a boring bit of pond where the tower used to be.
