i'm looking for info on a huge boat this guy from, i think, oregon was building/refurbishing. it was an old boat used for some kind of utility, about 30' long, and had a probably 4-5 feet from the waterline to the top of the gunwale when not weighted. i recall he built or was building some insane ballast system, like 6,000#+ on one side. there were pics of them surfing it while under construction and the wave was epic.

if anyone has pics or anything of the sort, POST EM UP! thanks.

I don't know how to insert the youtube videos, maybe someone familiar with the NEW WW can do it?

That is a short clip of the boat in operation.

I found these pictures by searching for dentard in the archives.

Heard the stories, nice to see some pictures!

A buddy of mine in Austin may still be able to contact him. He knew all kinds of info about the boat but I can't remember any of it clearly enough to relay here.

Here ya go Jeff!

Thats crazy! I wish there was some longer footage around

EDIT: The other vid on his youtube profile is longer, but messed up

Thanks Brian - how did you embed the video?

On the youtube page, right underneath the video where the view counter is, there is a box that says embed.

Click on that and then copy the text that is highlighted in the box

Then just paste that into your message box here on WW and post

Yes! Does it need all that code? That string was 1/2 mile long!

That's kinda like the boat I wanted to 'Test' out last fall but the weather was too bad. I was looking at a 30ft baja cruiser fishing boat with the key Single inboard. Anything larger was twin engines. The lakes we trailer to are not very big so morally shouldn't do it. My uncle has the 34ft version but twin screws and I know it'll be crappy like the other large cruisers that people have surfed behind.

Here is a 27ft, so you can imagine larger and wider that I missed out on:
