Lloyd- I just got Austin a Garmin GPS. He would always call me for directions from Florida. I would get on Google.maps.com and direct him. I felt like I was in the CTU building of "24" directing Jack Bauer on a mission. I would have the map up and would say "ok- you will be passing Oak St on your next right. See it? Good. See the golf course coming up on the right? Turn there. The lake will be on your left in 2000 ft."

He got too dependent on me. He would be in some city and call me up and say "Dad, get on the computer I need directions." I would say "Austin- sorry but I actually have a job and I am with a client right now." So he now has Garmen to tell him. You can chose the voice on these. He has a girl with an English accent and calls her Andrea. He really likes her but it is getting kind of weird. He wants us to meet "her".

That's what happens when you retire. I actually call him to update his position - I have a Magellan as well - but I feel like a TWA (or American) dispatcher. I have actually stayed with him for 30 minutes when he negotiated some tricky LA interchanges one time.
