I wonder if those would work well with the Slingshot. The binding bases look really narrow. I like the slingshot boards, but also like the hinge bindings.
Old     (dadthedriver)      Join Date: Jul 2004       10-01-2007, 8:07 PM Reply
Base plate is a lot more narrow then before. If you rode all the way out last year you will ride one in with this base plate. Actually would allow you to ride with even a wider stance. Same bolt pattern as before.

Anyone have a pic of the OT Zeus handy?

Not to hijack the thread but can anyone tell me why on the new marius that there is only 3 holes on the outside and 4 holes on the inside as far as mounting bindings goes. Just curious. I actually took a tape measure and measured the distance between the stance on my old board and my new one and it was the same but I still thought it was kindda odd.
Old     (boatutah)      Join Date: Mar 2007       10-02-2007, 8:31 AM Reply
The new mounting plates are significantly narrower than the older plates so I think that has something to do with it. Maybe they took out the middle two inserts because you don't need them.
Old     (wakeworld)      Join Date: Jan 1997       10-02-2007, 9:26 AM Reply
At least four companies (Ronix, LF, Slingshot and CWB) and probably more are beginning to migrate to binding mounting plates that are six inches between the mounting holes rather than eight inches. With that hole pattern above, you have a few options for 8-inch wide bindings and a few options for 6-inch wide bindings. Eventually, the standard binding will probably be a 6-inch, so, at least on high end boards, you'll see the inserts changing. They do this because binding technology now allows them to make the plate narrower and the narrower the plates, the less the binding will interfere with the flex of the board.

david williams- so based on that it is possible to fit 08 zeus' on an 07 marius and vice versa?

It is possible to fit the 08 Zues on any of the boards the 07 fit on.

Do they have them in stock or do they have a single pair? I am told they will not ship until the end of the month

Those are pretty sweet looking. The matte suede thing is lookin pretty sweet. A closed toe hinge-tech boot...tryin to get best of both worlds!
Old     (malibuboarder75)      Join Date: Jan 2004       10-02-2007, 2:17 PM Reply
Since the bindings are narrow, they will probably work better with slingshot. The only thing keeping me back from slingshot is that I have been riding hinge bindings for the past 2 years and I have yet to find something better. Its time for a new setup, maybe a slingshot recoil with 08 zeus.

They're super comfy... I can't wait to get my hands on a pair. They've got adjustable flex pattern's, too.

I like the Answer for those looking for a lower ankle profile.

Scott.... The OT version are all grey and look very similar. IMO... They're smoooooth. I'll likely go to the open toe once next summer is in swing. I'm still not a fan of closed toe. I think the articulated toe has the same effect without giving the clown shoe look.
Old     (robertr720)      Join Date: Aug 2007       10-05-2007, 10:24 AM Reply
Is the ot limited all grey or is that just the way that they will come. I agree that the grey looks sweet. They would look great on the any platinum board
Old     (scott_a)      Join Date: Dec 2002       10-05-2007, 10:34 AM Reply
Evan- I know...they definitely look good in person. I've got a customer that wants a pic of the OT and I can't seem to find my dealer book that c-dub sent me.

Also, Matt was tellin me that they did away with the adjustable flex on the tounge and just made it a bit stiffer on the Zeus?
Old     (wakeslife)      Join Date: Jul 2005       10-05-2007, 10:37 AM Reply
I was looking at my 06 Zeus, and noticed that they have 3 lace eyelets on the ankle. The 08's have 4, and I read somewhere that they went an inch higher on the wrap. Would the Answer be more comprable to my 06 Zeus height-wise on the ankle wrap?

I can't wait to get the Answers they look sweet I'm gonna stick with ct from now on after I blew my foot out the front of my ot's on a bad landing

I talked with the CWB rep at the last DRA event and he said the new Zeus's were an inch taller and even more supportive than the current model. The Answers were more comparable to the current zeus's and the factions are still the least stiff of the bunch.
Old     (guido)      Join Date: Jul 2002       10-05-2007, 12:19 PM Reply
Yup...

Hmmm, maybe they did away with the stiffeners. I think the added height will take care of that itself.

I love the downfolding hinge. A nice touch for sure.
Old     (allen)      Join Date: Apr 2005       10-05-2007, 1:09 PM Reply
they still have the stiffeners. But it was going to be a removable option. I think that the design changed and now they are gonna be with em or with out them. Like an option, but not removable.

I think, don't quote me on that I might be wrong.

Jordan I already have a set for myself and they dident cost me a dime, I have been a CWB dealer for a long time.
I am talking about shops having them for sale, I was told by CWB that they will ship to the shops in November.
If you have them in stock ready to sell, they why are they not up on your website?
The pics of the Zuses on the board are Tony Carroll's, he rides for CWB, thats why he has a pair.

The bindings are not out. The new Factions are shipping now and the Zues and answers are not going to ship for about 5 weeks is what we were told by CWB.

I got to put my foot in the Answer this weekend. Pretty awesome boot. They were a little too large so I didn't ride them. A friend was riding them with an 08 Marius Platinum, now that board looked awesome!!

Here's my setup from NorTex. We bought our Sanger V230 from them in early August and I can tell you they had this board back then. But ... I didn't end up purchasing the board until the bindings arrived about 3-4 weeks ago.

I was able to take a short ride with the new bindings today. The conditions were absolutely terrible, cold and windy. But I still took a nice set.

The boots were hard to get tight, I think mostly because they were new and stiff. I did tighten them up at the end of the set, and they were much more pliant when wet. I love the closed toe, although it seemed hard to get the laces snug over my toes.

The boots are amazingly comfortable and supportive. I LOVE the new hinge! Can't wait to get some time in them with better conditions that the 8ft swells we had today.

Although it is early, I highly recommend these boots.

Sean, not 8ft like you said, but it does look pretty rough. don't think I would board in that..

Ryan, what adapter?

to fit the 6 inch plate onto the 8 inch inserts of the older boards. what does it look like, is it effective?

Ummmmmmmm What adapter???

I just screwed the boots onto the board, no adapter Ryan.....

The new six inch plate from CWB works with the 8 inch inserts on boards with no adapter needed.
Old     (ryansgt)      Join Date: Aug 2006       10-25-2007, 1:17 PM Reply
hmmm, i thought somebody mentioned something about an adapter. yeah yeah, just rewatched the zane video and he mentions an adapter to fit it to older boards. maybe it is to use older bindings witht he new boards?? otherwise i wonder what he's talking about.
Old     (wakeslife)      Join Date: Jul 2005       10-25-2007, 5:17 PM Reply
innov8, unless my reasoning is wrong, with the new 6 inch plates, you would not be able to ride as wide of a stance without some sort of adapter plate. If you use the outermost insert on the inner side of the boot, you're still going to have an insert way on the outside that the boot plate won't reach. Kind of confusing and I may be wrong here...
Old     (fmaxturbosi)      Join Date: Oct 2007       10-25-2007, 5:32 PM Reply
it's actually the other way around. you can ride a wider stance with a narrower plate. because the binding is closer to the holes on the plate, the binding will mount closer to the farthest hole from the middle.
Old     (gdillyfunk69)      Join Date: Nov 2003       10-25-2007, 6:51 PM Reply
I just mounted them on my board, and they are about 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch closer together than the 2007 Zeus's were.

THEY ARE ABSOLOUTLY AMAZING... PICS COMING...

O by the way... the two pairs of Zeus's above arn't the final products by CWB..... The final product has a stiffener that runs up the entire toe piece under the laces. (again pics are coming)
