I'm trying to convince my dad buy a 1985 Ski Nautique (the 2001 hull), wondering how the wake is and how it compares to modern wake boats. With or without ballast, however you ride it.
I want to know about size, how rampy or steep it is, pop, pretty much as much as possible.

Thanks
Tom

The 2001 series Nautique is one of the top choices for a wake hull. I could write a whole book on these boats but it would be more beneficial to do a search on them. This is available on the home page of this website. Good luck and good choice if you end up with one.

You can also check out http://the2001.com/ for info. They have a bunch of people over there that will have no problem convincing you into a great Nautique.

its steep with a lot of pop. very very similar to the old 210 only a little bit narrower. i usually ride 24mph 80ft rope and like 1800 pounds. its big for the size boat it is. personally i think 86 and 89 were the best years. the 89 had a muffler, single exhaust and different tranny. 86 has best looks in my opinion. ive seen 85s with the same interior as 86 and ive seen em with the older ones. the newer interior is by far better as far as seat layout goes. the nice part is that the hull did not change at all so you will get a great wake, its mostly cosmetic changes except for the 89 with the transmission and exhaust change

The only complaint I ever had with mine was there is very little space in them . And then start putting sac's in the boat and you have even less room. But I loved mine ,Great first/inexpensive wake boat.
