For some reason I cannot land in the flats or the dish without hurting my front knee. It feels like I am landing on concrete. My right knee is now very tender when I do land out there, Which brace are you guys recommending for protection of the knees? I do relize that this is not a cure-all but it makes me feel a little more comfortable. Hope you can help.

I have a custom DonJoy Defiance that was prescribed to me after blowing out my knee. A brace isn't going to lessen the blow of landing out in the flats like that even if it's a top dollar custom job. I refuse to take things into the flats anymore because of the pain (granted I've had a serious injury there). I also used this brace for a bit before I got mine which works well, but again, won't lessen the impact at all. They're not designed to do that.

a brace is for a specific purpose, before you go prescribing your own i suggest you see a knee specialist and tell him what problems you are having. you may need some PT or a simple surgery and not a brace.

i have the same problem landing anything now, my back knee on the top of knee cap is just pure pain like a bruised bone, and after a couple jumps the whole knee feels like jello and a knee brace makes no diff if i wear one or not..
