I found some really good deals on some 03 bindings. First I found some CD PSO'1s. Then I just recently found a 03 pair of Byerly's. From what I understand, the Byerly's are a higher end binding. But Im concerned from reading some post's about the BOA system. The difference in price is $120, with the Byerly's being the more expensive pair. Also, the Byerly's have never been used, and the CD's have been used twice. Money is kind of tight right now, because I just got a new board also. I guess my question is, are the Byerly's that much better of a binding, that it would be worth spending $120 bucks more?

Come on, someone has to have an opinion on this! Im pressed because Im going to buy them today, like in a couple of hours, before I go on a trip this weekend.

Ryan - who in god's name told you the Byerly was a "higher end" binding?

First off, I have ridden both quite a bit. The Byerly had some cool features, but the BOA system is a concern and you will be replacing the knobs and laces at some point, but this should be covered under warranty - but we all know that your board shop is most likely not lakeside and when it breaks its gonna be on the water.

Byerly:

Positives: comfy, decent ankle support, neato BOA system.

Negatives: BOA system will break, BOA system can take a whole lot of cranking to get you in right.

PS01:

Positives: super comfy, great ankle support, direct connect to board feel, snowboard style boots.

Negatives: stiff and hard to enter till broken in, laces take some getting used to, overtightening laces will keep you ATTACHED no matter how hard you fall.

My choice of the 2 is the PS01 hands down. It's what I ride now as a matter of fact }

I'd go for the PS01's as well, but I could be considered a biased opinion.

I am all about the Byerly's. Everybody always talks down on the BOA, but I have not had a single problem. In fact, it is the most comfortable binding I have ridden. Thats my oppinion, not to discount everyone elses.

I would say the byerlys. Yeah the byerlys will need some maintenance sometme down the road but the pso1 are a pain all the time. I found the CD bindings to be a pain to put on, and not that comfy. The byerlys, which i ride now, cinch up nicely around your foot and ankle. Good Luck
