recently visited Colorado & loved the area. But didn't really see any nice places to wakeboard. Mostly private or protected waters. Anyone have any suggestions?

If you want nice places to ride in colorado, , you need to get on a private lake. There are many great lakes to chill out and boat on, but boarding is harsh due to crowds.

I kinda have the same question, im gonna go to colorado state u. in fort collins a year from now. There is a resovoir near the football stadium that had boaters on it, i think it was called horseshoe resovoir. Does anybody know if this is a good lake for wakeboarding and how many boarders there is. Thanks

Yep, it sure is. It's one of the larger puddles in the area, too. As with any public lake in Colorado, it will get crowded starting about 10:00 a.m. It's usually pretty chunky by then, anyway.

I went to CSU many moons ago. Horsetooth can be very good at times. There are a couple of private lakes out east, but the one I skied on had a very bad alge problem. There were not a lot of college kids with boats when I went. Get a kayak and head up the Poudre.

I hate to hijack the post but, Karl how was CSU, what did you study, heavy drug use?, I went to Fort Collins and was very impressed but i would also like the opinion of an alumni. Thanks

No Horsetooth sucks! Go find your own lake.(jk) Horsetooth is the shizzle, but recently a large number of dumb a$$ people have been there. Seems these days they sell a fancy boat to any rich dumb a$$ that has no clue how to drive it or what the rules of the lake are.

Uh, Josh, "they" have always sold boats to anyone that had the money. What do you mean by "these days"? Jackson is pretty good and usually yoiu can find OK water until the afternoon storms roll in.

Andrew: I loved it! Many, many, many outdoor recreational opportunities. I could write a book, but most people don't want to see that here. If you have specific questions send an e-mail to the address in my profile and I will give you the beta.

Andrew.. I am an alum too. Loved it, drugs were not an issue, or at least not any more than any other university. The location is outstanding. I studied business/marketing and economics. The outdoor recreation up there is out of this world!!!!!!

Thanks for all the imput! Up toward Littleton is where I'm interested in. I drive about 30 min. to the delta right now, so the driving doesn't bother me. I'll check out the lakes to see how they are. Thanks again.
