My old sacks sprung a leak last weekend.

Does anyone have a recommendation for new sacks for the rear lockers of my 2000 BU VLX?

Pro X series hands down. I guess it's up to you if you want the 400 pounders or the 750's.

Go with the 750's. They fit.

the 750s, you can always fill them less if need be

^^^FYI, when you fill those half way your dealign with hydraulic pressure against the walls of your boat. Teh fiberglass will be ok, but any interior wall will gradually start to bend b/c of the pressure of the sac being half full and not holding it's shape.

Pro X 750's! I bought the 440's and went to the 750's. Spent twice the dough for a hard lesson learned.

I was using these stretchy buddha bags that I liked a lot but they wore out (sprung leaks) and I can't find them now. I would fill them to 550 or 600. The 750s seem like they will have a problem fitting back there.

I use the 400# Fat Sac X bags and they are great. The new ones have the fill holes moved in a couple inches that makes them a lot easier to get the pump on. I know with the 400#, there is still room to put stuff in the locker and the bags aren't pushing too hard against the plastic panels.

I don't really know why ProX doesn't offer the old-school standard 550lb size in addition to or instead of the 400lb size. The 400's are way too small for a lot of applications and I prefer not to use the 750s because they don't fill all the way and I like to have visual confirmation of full by overflowing out the side of the boat. Also, I prefer the bag to hold shape which works a bit better when it can fill all the way.

In my 2002 VLX, I'm running some older Fly-High ~500lb sacks in each locker (took out stock tanks), but I think eventually I'm going to get some custom ProX made that are like 550-600lb so I get a bit more weight, the nice ProX fittings and bag, yet am still able to fill them up all the way.

Oh, also, I'm running about 600lbs in a custom front tank, the stock center ballast (~400lbs), and one of those ProX side sacks (~260lbs) tucked under the passenger seat. Sometimes we'll throw in another side sack (~260lbs). You could definitely go much more, but this is very manageable for me and I don't like to run insane amounts of weight in the tight area where we ride. Boat space is also an issue.
