this may be a dumb question but i'm going to ask it anyways. can you put a wedge on a mastefcraft? I have no clue anything about the wedge. If so is it worth having one? any info would help me understand a little better. thanks

Wedge on mastercraft = voided warranty

It can be done, but you would have to seriously brace the transome and do some creative customization.

The wedge was designed for a certain type hull by malibu, so if the hull on the master craft is different(which i am sure it is)it would be hard to say what it will do for the wake, could be better or worse? The wedge is suppose to equal about a 1000# of ballest ,so if it will work on the mastercraft it is a benifit. Do a search i am sure there was a post about some guy that had put one on a mastercraft.

There was a boat for sale a little while ago that had a wedge on a Mastercraft. I wouldnt be 2 sure of it. it may damage your transom, stick with ballast i say.

Ballast is much better anyway, I personally don't like the wedge, it makes your boat handle terrible and you get crappy gas milage.

You can't buy a wedge anyway if you own a mastercraft. I believe Malibu requires you to submit Hull numbers before they sell it.

The transom on a Malibu is specifically designed to handle the force that the wedge throws out. I dont use my wedge. The angle that a wedge sits on a Malibu is way different to the angle ride at on any other make, this is why there a three models of the wedge. If you have all the time in the world and are pretty handy with a bit of fibreglass and metal work, you could make one. But it would take for ever to find the right size and angles. Stick to the ballast. Oh yeah a wedge offers alot of convience and provide great wakes to learn on but it does make the boat handle like
