Question number two;

Who is your favorite local boy or up and comming ripper. Give him props and post a pic if you have one.

Mine: Chris Dykmas and Derrek Cook would start the list.

I'd say our boy Allen is coming up. He learned a S-Bend this year and a switch Krypt. Both on the second or third try.

Kevin Bird is coming up.

Im considered the man to ask when it comes to wakeboarding in my area haha (small community)
but there is a friend of mines son, hes 8, he is almost going wake to wake on a 60 foot rope behind a weighted centurion, the wake is up to his chest!
I give him 2-3 years before hes throwing 3s, inverts, all that stuff, I believe he'll be riding like Coop... Im gonna make him NY's premier rider! haha

Tony Carroll. Been watching him ride from the start. One day he is hucking tantrums and the next he's sticking 7's bolth ways, crowmobe5s, whirlybirds and everything inbetween. Props to Tony.

Along with that I have to say Dustin Shows, Kevin Bird, Jared Couch, and of course the Valdez brothers.

My favorites are all of the Jr. Mens/Women riders.I enjoy watching these young atheletes as they climb the ladder to the Pro ranks. The courage and raw ability really starts to come out at this age, and it usually comes straight from the heart.Of course Dustin Shows is my favorite, but the list goes on, Austin Hair, Reed Hanson, AJ Rancinelli, Alexis Rancinelli, Jimmy Lariche, Adam Errington, Rhett Whatley, Robby Carter, Nick Jones, Larry Taylor, and the Valdez Bros. just to name a few. Also lets not forget Jeff House. I Know he will be back next year and shredding it. Good Luck to all the riders in the "06" season.

Old     (dakid)      Join Date: Feb 2001       10-21-2005, 9:42 AM Reply
i'd say she's a local pro, but to me, she'll be giving the women's tour (if they don't get rid of it next year) a run for their money. she doesn't do the tours now, does she?
Old     (wakestar8878)      Join Date: Oct 2003       10-21-2005, 9:45 AM Reply
Not for the last year or so, I believe she has in the past, but of course I could be wrong.

don't know if I can say Greg Nelson and Igor Reoutt, neither are pro anymore right?

I gotta go with my boys Phil Ramak and Brian Hanley. Brian, if you're still checking out the board hit me up. We're headed to Rollins this weekend. I think Pete is going to join us as well.

I hate to post because I don't want to leave anybody out, Larry Taylor, Tony Carroll, let's not forget Derek Conway, that kid rips, AJ, Steele Lafferty, Jimmy Lariche, Adam Errington, Alex Scagliotti, for sure, Ryan Anderson is one to watch. Hey duuuug, nice to see a shot that he is not talking!! LOL! (you KNOW I say that in love) Robert Soven is going to kill it in the jr mens class. Also.....Poodle, Dustin Shows, and I am super impressed with Kevin Bird and what I saw in the "Almost Famous trailer" Jared Couch is awesome too. Bates is the best rep rider I have ever seen. Oh yea, and those dang Valdez brothers.

Keep an eye out for Alex Hamerick in NC. He made finals in natioanls and Pan Am Jr Men. Brad Smealey is a difficult one. He killed it at the IWSF worlds last year and won it. He bombed on the Pro Tour but came back and won the WWA worlds this year. So he could be another. Mike Marsh rode really well at nationals. Of course Philip Combs and Aaron Rathey but htose guys are pro now.

Gordie, thanks a ton for mentioning me, I was put in very good company there. I'd have to agree with all those mentioned. Eddie & Jacob, Larry, Poodles, Bates, Poser, KK, Coop, Killingsworth all rip. Its ridiculous how many good riders there are now.

I need to give extra kudos to Jared Couch(The Rod) for being a great friend and awesome rider. Also special props have to go to (the Dr.)Daniel Doud, that guy has the most shots in Alliance this year(2nd only to Aubrey) including the last cover.
