Flying from MSP to Orlando this week. I have a padded Ronix bag but am still worried about the bag being tossed around and breaking the back of the bindings. I know they're wake bindings and made to handle some abuse, but not straight down like I feel they will be while traveling. Advice? Previous experience? RIght now I intend on flying with the boots NOT strapped in to keep the bag flatter.

you can always on screw and take off the back of the system binding, it will help your bag be flatter and it will take the abuse that the binding would get of the heel support. Friends had the same problem!

they fold down with the screw removed. I flew to Orlando 2 weeks ago and left them up in the bag no problem tho

hmm... this might be another side benefit of the systems, that you don't have to unscrew 4 bolts to get boots off the board in traveling

Ive flown with my systems a decent amount and literally watched my bag get flung from the cart to the conveyor belt. No issues ever.

Im with Shred and the others, i've flown both with the boots in the bindings and out of the bindings, it basically made no difference. the bindings can handle a fair bit of abuse. Also if you are worried about the bag being too tall/thick etc. just take the boots out of the bindings and fold the back down flat to the board, no screws to remove or tools needed.

My suggestion is to just keep em on the board, fold the backs down and you should be good to go.

Thanks guys, flew just fine and the bindings held up just like they should, but Southwest tore my board bag and said they wont cover it because it is soft sided! Pissed!

I have my high backs locked in place and they were still all good.
