i rode my hyperlite scape 112 about 5 times in 1-2 weeks and i noticed that the wood at the front was separating it started extending into the board what should i do

Throw it away and never look back. Hunt down a new deck. I would highly reccomend an Oak, New, or Sattelyte.

Poor quality boards are poor quality boards.

My buddy rides an 07 catalyst, its a great board. He loves it, I haven't got to a chance to ride it yet. Its all composite and very strong. He rides it all the time

I have a 05' catalyst with grip. Same shape as 06/07

Its a fun board, but I find it is a little narrow for me. I have size 13 feet and they hang a little at the tips. If it was 2 or 3 inches wider all the way through it would be a super sick board.

It pops decent and the concave really holds your feet in.

I have it for sale if your interested email me- ethan31@gmail.com

I really wouldn't recommend a catalyst. But if you wakeboard more than you skate you might like it.

Carson, if you want a composite deck integrity is the only way too go. amazing shape and feel and it doesnt ride like a cut down wakeboard.
Old     (eviltweak)      Join Date: Jun 2008       06-20-2008, 8:18 PM Reply
i like the integrity but i dont have that kind of cash any other good boards that are cheper
Old     (wakemitch)      Join Date: Jun 2005       06-20-2008, 8:56 PM Reply
you can pick up the team for 330 and it will last you for ever and ride amazing. other composite decks feel like poop and delaminate with winching and hitting rails. most have crazy huge sizes too.
Old     (kalenk)      Join Date: Feb 2007       06-21-2008, 6:42 AM Reply
Composite is a good way to go, but don't let hyperlites shltty wood deck scare you away. You wont have the same problems with an oak.

2.0 and vinyl will be huge for you.

i would recommend a 38-40" skate and you wont grow out of them so no worries.

do you think a 112 is to big for me
Old     (wakemitch)      Join Date: Jun 2005       06-24-2008, 7:31 AM Reply
yes.

112cm is 44.09" (HUGE)

even hyperyltes 107 is big (42.12")

Im saying all this because when i was your size i was talked into buying a 116 scape by a salesmen at a pro shop because he knew that i didnt know any better. i used that for a year. learned shuvs and eventunally gripped it which helped a lot. but it was just a huge board for me and was slow to respond. The next year i picked up a 41" deck and my riding improved so much and i progressed a lot.

Since you guys are talking about size a little bit and I don't know much about skate sizes but am looking into getting one this year, whats a good size for a 6 foot 160 pound person?
Sad to say (after reading this thread) I am looking at a Scape 116 since I found it for a hella good deal online, but I am wondering if that would be a decent size for someone like me? Obviously I'm not going to be too picky anyways since I'm pretty new to skating
Old     (wakemitch)      Join Date: Jun 2005       06-28-2008, 10:20 AM Reply
Sam, its a 46" skate with super narrow tails.
It would be perfect if you were 7' with size 8 feet.

Get something between 40-42" and make sure the tails are wide enough for you.

Old     (kalenk)      Join Date: Feb 2007       07-02-2008, 8:47 AM Reply
Carson, ride finless.
Old     (eviltweak)      Join Date: Jun 2008       07-02-2008, 7:45 PM Reply
