I'm stuck between these two camber boards. What is the difference? I mainly ride wake and I'm fine spending the extra money on the air core if it's worth it. Also are the parks boots to soft for wake riding? Thanks

Hey buddy, I ride the 134 Parks air core behind the boat and love it. I have bounced back and forth between the modello and have always gone with the air core. It is a fairly noticeable difference in the air from core to core but does not have a major impact on the way the board rides. The main difference between the two is just the core and the sintered base (basically a grind base). The way the board is layer up is the exact same. I definitely think that the air core is the way to go!

I also ride with Parks boots and love them just as much as the board. The liner in the boots barely brakes down and there's virtually no heel lift. These boots are also one of the lightest ones in the line which complement the air core nicely! They're the perfect combo of stiff and flexible!

Thanks man. Appreciate it a lot. Only other question is how's the board size? I weigh 180lbs and by their chart I should go with the 139 but in snowboarding we always try to slide into a smaller board for tricks since they are easier to whip around. So should I risk it with the 134 or just play it safe and go with the 139?

At 180 I would never go down to a 134. At 180-185 I've ridden 135s and can do it in a pinch, but it sucks. If anything I'm more a fan of moving up a size than down. For you and what it sounds like your concerns are, I'd say stay with the 139 but get the air core since you sound like you're concerned about swing weight. If you aren't doing big spins and inverts, you could easily stick with the modelo and possibly (at 180) go to the next size (142? 144?). I personally can't tell all that much difference in weight from a 139 to a 142 and feel like I get a little more pop from a larger board that allows me to ride at a tiny bit lower boat speed (like 0.6-0.8 mph less). It doesn't sound like much, but crashes aren't quite so brutal.

I'm 190 and ride the 139, I would go 139 if I was you. I love the set up. I don't hit rails so couldn't justify the extra $160 for a little lighter board.

Awesome thanks man. I have the itch bad. It's going to be 82 here in West Virginia Sunday so shouldn't be to much longer. I'm tempted to just go buy a wet suit and get started lol.
