I'm trying to get a very basic AMP & 4 - 6x9 speaker setup put together up on the tower of our boat, what is that going to cost? I've talked to several dealers and their quotes are outrageous (boat and audio dealers), is this something I can install my self? is the installation any different than a car? will I need an additional battery?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Very basic and similar to a car. If you have access to some basic tools you could easily create a fiberglassed box for the 6x9's that bolts to the tower. Its a hell of alot cheaper to do things yourself if you can manage to do them. I did my whole setup with no previous experience doing custom vinyl wraps and fiberglassing. I have done multiple car installs and work in construction so tools were easily accessed. Good Luck. If you do an install don't forget to post some pics.
