2004 Hyperlite Bindings - New Footbed

What's up with the harder foam for the footbed? Everyone else is going thicker and softer, but Hyperlite goes harder. Seems like a bad move to me. It feels too dense, like the older single footbeds.

There are two problems with too thick and soft. 1. They become mushy and unresponsive. 2. They bottom out on big landings. A slightly firmer footbed will compress when you come down hard, but not slam your heel into the board.

I went from the 02 Parks to the 04 Parks and I love the change. It is still super comfy with the new footbeds.

I like the new footbeds better. Trust me, if you ride them they definitely make you feel more connected to the board. Worthwhile improvement in my opinion.

I was in the shop and I was feeling all of the footpads, and on some it felt really soft, almost a little softer than last years, and some of 'em were really hard. Maybe it's just some incosistencies in the first batch.

The problem with the 2003 was when you bottom out your foot can slide forwards, then the pad comes back up, making your foot get stuck there. But a quick shift pulls it right back.
But I'll still say the 2003 parks are the best binding I've ever tried on, I guess with the new foot bed it can only be better.

I've had that problem with my 03 Parks. On at least half of my real big jumps, my foot slides through. Looks like a good excuse to get 04!!!!!!!!!
