Hey Wakeworld Community,

I am looking at purchasing a cable board. I know very little about cable boards as I am mostly a boat rider I am doing my own research as well, but never a bad thing to pick the brains of people that ride cable frequently.

I am 6 ft tall and about 215lbs. I am from Minnesota so I will only be hitting the cable maybe a few times in the summer either at west rock or quarry then in the winter in the southern states. I have been to a cable and can hit most of the features, the big ollies has me freaked out. Anyway any recommendations on a length of a board or any tips for board choice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for any help.

I would go for a board that is 100% wood core, as most boards with foam in them break extremely easily.

I ride a Connelly Woodro which comes in a 146 which is a good size for you, it has medium flex and small channels which are nice to have.

but yeah go for anything with a wood core for sure, the shape, flex pattern and channels or flat base is really up to your preference.

good luck dude

Check with Dan at West Rock Wake Park in IL. I believe he was blowing out some of his demo/rental fleet.
