Last week my brother went to the doctor about an infection on his leg. It turns out it was a mosquito bite that got infected by lake water. The doctor gave him anti-biotics and said stay out of the water until it heels.
When he woke up this morning his leg was twice as big as it was yesterday so they went to the hospital. They say it is a staph infection and is pretty deep. It is in the bone or almost in the bone. And if it gets to bad they might amputate his leg. They say it is pretty bad.

For all you believers out there if you will, keep my brother in prayer. I want to see him strap on a board again and ride.

My friend got a staff infectio from Lake Powell. He was in the hospital for 4 days. He had to have a tube put through his arm all the way into his heart in order to give him antibiotics. It was really crazy and sad, it ended his summer. But he is Okay now and didn't need amputaion. Your bro should be fine and has my best wishes.

Everyone thanks, it means so much. I will keep you all updated, also Im gonna print this and mail it to him to show that all of you are praying for him.
I knew he had gone to the doctor last week for it and I was like its no big deal. Then today when I found out he was in the hospital I just broke down. It's hard being 1700 miles away and not being able to do anything. Your prayers mean a lot, and knowing that you all are keeping him and my family in your thoughts takes some weight off my chest. Again I can't thank you enough.

BTW- It was at lake Texoma.

Jade - Staphylococcus aureus bacteria are often simply called "staph" (pronounced "staff") bacteria. Staph bacteria can live harmlessly on many skin surfaces, especially around the nose, mouth, genitals, and rectum. But when the skin is punctured or broken for any reason, staph bacteria can enter the wound and cause an infection.

Mike, I wish your brother the best. I know first hand about having to deal with that type of infection. Tell him to hang in there.

Hey everyone, they are letting my Bro go home tomorrow. They said he made it in just in time to catch it before it got to the bone. The swelling is going down each hour and the 3 open infection are now healing. They are saying his leg will be back to normal in a couple weeks.

I want to thank everyone for their support here on WW and the emails I have recieved. If any of you ever need a pull on the delta let me know. Also my brother told me to tell you all thank you for your prayers.

Right on Mike. Great news. Make sure he takes care of that leg. The Staph infection does not go away and can flare up at anytime.
