When Phil went to check-in this morning US Air informed him that effective July 1st all "sporting equipment" is subject to a $100 minimum each way baggage fee. This includes golf clubs, skis, snowboards, etc. It is on their website. For a bag to be the minimum $15 fee Length+width+height must be 62" or less. $100 fee for 63 to 80". Bags above 80" cannot be checked at any time.

I will not fly US Air anymore. Wonder how long before all airlines adapt this policy?

Fly Southwest and possibly even write them thanking them for being such an understanding, and customer oriented airline.

Shipping on 4 boards and bindings was 23 each way thru Fedex when we went to shasta last year.
