I am wondering if anyone has a capix wakecap and if so, what your thoughts are on it. I am looking into purchasing a helmet, and like the look of the wakecap. It seems inexpensive, so I am wondering if it has decent protection.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks
Jeff

Have you checked out Shred Ready Helmets? They rock.

Jeff,

Capix helmets look real cool, however, they fall off when you crash a lot.

I bought one a few years ago and it was the biggest piece of crap. It started falling apart in no time. Same deal with my friends helmet.

Mine didnt fall apart, but it does fall off when you crash.

A guy we have ridden with in the past, told me that he has one and one time he did fell and the bill was facing forward and it came down and broke his nose!

So I took a hacksaw to mine and cut the bill off...

Thanks for the feedback. Looks like I should stay away from the capix. I was watching wakeboarding in HD today and seemed like a lot of the guys were riding with the capix. It doesn't seem as though it would offer much protection if it falls off so easily. The shred ready ones look nice too. I like the shaggy and the super scrappy. Anyone have either of these, or recommend one over the other?
I appreciate everyone's help!

They are both great helmets the shaggy is a composite helmet and the super scrappy is a plastic helmet, you can also get waterproof headphones for there helmets for your mp3 players. We are going to start selling them in our shop. I know a couple of riders riding them and they said they are really good.

My daughter wears one when she is hitting sliders and she likes it (Shred Ready). They have a nice fit and also pretty stylish. Shred Ready would be a good choice. They are also stepping up on the sponsorship towards wake. Very good company. If you have any ?s after visiting the website call them. Most of the time the owner answers or is very easy to talk to.
