Exo Suction Owners, Help Me . . .

i am (still) thinking about getting some new size Large Exos. My question is, do i really need to buy rainbow bones, or are the exos okay without. I have heard a few stories about plates bending, etc. and i dont want that to happen (right?) :-)

so any Exo Owners tell me whats up, do i need the bones? thanks

Well, I may not be of much help, but...here's my deal.

I haven't ridden Exo's yet, but I did try 'em on in the store. They were nice, and comfortable for the most part. But, they put A LOT of pressure on the top of my foot right above the ankles...and the laces weren't tightened either. I've heard they take some breaking in to get 'em loosened up, and they may be completely right. But, I rode some Byerly's at a Hyperlite Demo (Parks and Maeghan were there! :-)

), and those Byerly's were SO EASY to get in and out of and SO COMFORTABLE right out of the box. I had to get a pair of those. I traded my Exos in for the Byerly's.

I had the exo's and rode 'em for a while, before I switched to my ultras. I ride mine with some LF Lugz, which I don't think I need, but they make me feel better. I'll admit that the Exo's do take some time and patience to get right, but once they're right, they're awesome. I've tried on every high-end HL and LF binding and I can't stand the HL footbed. It feels like my foot is gonna slide all over the place.

I have not had a problem with the base plate bending. I ride then pretty hard too so I dont think it is essensial. But it would not hurt.

I have the exos and have to say that it took me about 2 rides to break them in. I must say that either these guys have never tried exos or were wearing the wrong size. I use mine hard and have never had a problem with the base plate either. Once you break them in after a ride or 2 they are amazing. The most comfortable bindings i have ever worn. I can slip into them and get right out of them, but i have NEVER fallen out while riding, so they hold at all the right times.

Goin on my second year of riding the same pair of Exo Sucs. The bindings rock! I have XL's, and they have considerably stretched some. Wish I had a pair of Larges now. But soooooooo comfortable once broken in!!

I have Size medium Exo's. I love these bindings. I recently took mine apart though because they were way to tight on top of my feet. I don't see how you broke yours in by the second ride. I ride on mine alot because we have a lake house and I ride all the time. Mine are still not broken in. Mine hurt my ankles really bad after a long ride. Does anyone have any advice about that problem?

I have XL exo bindings and love them. They are very comfortable and do provide good ankle support, they are a little tough to break in but once you ride them a few times they are awesome.

Im 6'0", 205 lbs and ride them very hard, have had no problem with base plate bending.

shove beer bottle in them for a couple of days. worked like a champ.
