Hey I have a 2002 premier which is the same as the Era and Im trying to decide if I should go to a 2004 Premier. I like hte feel of the 2002 Premier but Im looking for something a little different. Looks like cuz of little miss hurricane Ivan that I wontbe riding the next few days and I just got a really good deal on a 2004 premier 136 and I dont have to much time to make a decision.. has anyone riden a 2002-2003 premier and then switched to an 2004 premier.... did you like it better or worse. If you just have a 2004 Premier what do you think about it.
Thanks so much.... ChRiS

i heard the new premier is a lot slower than the old premier. you might want to demo before you make the change. lots of shops in florida have demo programs where the money spent on demos can/will be applied to purchase of new board.

I own the 02 and I've rode the 04.....I really like the 02 and I thought the 04 had a big bulky and slow feeling to it. The only thing I liked about the 04 is that it seemed to have a softer landing than the 02. I just bought the Blindside Blade 142 and it seems to have a lot more speed and pop than both of the premiers. If You can find one to Demo You should give it a try.
Good luck !

Chris, you PM'd me and live in my area... go to Watersports West on Walsingham when the 2005 line comes out and demo the 2004 and they will sell it a lot cheaper since the new stuff is out if you like it.

By the way, I'm in the city of Seminole and I used to ride on Lake seminole... used to being because I haven't wakeboarded in like 6 months, been working on kiteboarding lately.

I've never ridden the 02, but I love the 04. I demoed 9 boards this year and it was far and away my favorite

I've ridden them both. I had the '01 Premier 135 and the '02 Premier 140 and now I'm riding the '04. The '04 has a little less speed and snap than the old board, but I really like the way it tracks. It has a little bit more fin than the old board, but still breaks loose easily if you want. I like the slow feeling because it allows me to develop more line tension. To me the pop is about the same. The only downside is the board feels a bit heavier when you are riding. I really like the super smooth landings and think it is the most forgiving board I've ridden.

Just my opinion though. Ride it if there is anyway possible. If you are looking for a board that rides very similarly to the ERA/Old Premier try the LF Substance. It rides really similarly, but with more speed and pop.
