Smoking coming from dash, Help please

Ok so we have a 2003 Super Air Nautique with about 300hrs on it. we don’t ride behind it very often and this past weekend we were talking to someone on their dock and the boat was idling for about 5-10min and started smoking from underneath the dash. We think it is the circuit board in there went out. We already had to replace one circuit board a while back since the bilge was not working. Anyone know what could have caused this smoke? The boat ran back to the house but would not start after that.

Post this on planetnautique if you haven't already. You should describe what exactly happened when you tried to start it again. Was the keypad not working? Did you have any electric power at all? Was the keypad working, but the motor was not turning? Did the motor turn but not fire? These are all details they will ask you over at PN.

The previous owner of our boat (2002 SAN) had that same issue with the digital gauges prior to him swapping them for the analog gauges. If you haven't done that already, it could be related to what you're seeing.

It could be anything electrical, check the entire dash!
