I got some 3M film that I put against the back of the transom. Works great! I used to get a lot of board scratches to the transom; no more! One of the best "upgrades" I've made to the boat (05 X-2).

OK, I dug up the info.

3M transparent film in 12 mil at McMaster Carr (www.mcmaster.com) part #1867T14 (4”, also avail in other widths). also http://www.fundamentalwatersports.com/transomprotector.html in 4” x 6’.

sorry i didn't see your post earlier, brad. glad you got ahold of howard. tell him i said hello and that i am still using mine with great results (no scuffs on the transome). ask him what is he going to come up with to protect the fiberglass platform. seriously, there is nothing else i would use other than his product. it easily detaches and leaves to tell-tale marks when not in use. you can have it monogrammed if you want. just think, you could put "Ole Miss Rebels" on there. yeah, that's the ticket. we finally got it in the water late sunday. i had the most fun i've had behind a boat in months. we put in around 6 and pulled out around 8:30 pm. had to wait on the storms to finish passing through. hey to mrs. jana.
