Was putting on a new prop this afternoon and noticed where the shaft goes into the hull, it looks like there should be some sort of boot around it. its pretty much a hole! if there is supposed to be a boot is there any fix/place where i can get a boot?? thanks for the help!

No boot, just a hole is the norm.

Chase, there is a box on the inside of the hull that has a waxed rope. You can tighten a nut to compress or loosen it so that it keeps it from dripping. You don't want to make it too tight though. Newer boats now have a dripless seal that works differently. If you can't tighten it anymore without stopping/slowing the drip you may need to replace the wax rope/packing.
