Hey guys, im new to the site and felt like starting my first thread.
Just bought a new boat, well its new to me, its an older 21ft supra with a monster tower and just went and bought myself a new board, Hyperlite State 140 with the state bindings. My old board was a real beginner and have had it for probably 7 years, so i figured I needed a new one so I could start advancing my skills.
Unfortunately its been storming here all week and i havent been able to get out on the water yet, it drivin me crazy!!
Anyways, just had a couple questions. Ive read on here that you should get a wakeboard rope because theres no give and you need to load the line. is this important or can you just use any line? also, my board came with 1.1" removable fins, should i remove these? my other board had bigger fins but i always left them off because i wanted to do surface 360s and stuff. What are they even for really?
Sorry if these are stupid questions just tryin to learn more as i go.

get a non-stretch line for sure. as far as fins go, that is personal preference. i am not sure if the State has molded fins or not but i like riding without a center fin because it is easier to do surface tricks. but the board will be looser and more "squirly" and for a beginner you might want to leave them in until you learn your edging techniques.

get yourself a copy of the BOOK, kinda pricey but WELL worth it for an instructional.
