I went from an 03' x-30 to an 06' and have been very bummed with the new boat's surf wave. I've had as much as 1600+ additional ballast added in rear locker, port side seats/under seats, and some weight in the bow. I've tried playing with the trim plate and filling/emptying the starboard tank. Any suggestions? Should I keep adding ballast. I've also used less ballast and had multiple numbers of people in the boat so I've tried many different configs and still only get a
"decent" wave where I'm forced to go in circles.
Any advice is much appreciated.

mark i have an 02 x-30 and was wondering the best way to sack my boat up for surfing. What are your ideas?

I weighted my 03' similar to what I outlined above with my 06'. I don't claim to be the surf setup tweaking guru. Depending on how many folks were in the boat seemed to determine how clean the wave was. I never had more than 350 lbs in the bow so I'm unsure how much more added weight up there might have helped. Wish I had more ideas for you.

Mark I am sure some of the "weighting gurus" will reply. I have an 06 x2 and I run 1600lbs of ballast and it took most of last summer to dial it in. I have about 800lbs in back locker, 500 behind driver seat and back seat, 300 in the front running at 10.7mph. Good luck.

Darryl - I have a 2006 X-2 as well and didn't have very good luck wake surfing with just the 3 stock ballast tanks - can you give me some details on what kind of ballast you used and where you purchased it - a picture of the install would really help as well - thanks in advance!

X2s throw great surf wakes. I love my MC surf wake as well. Here is some pics of an X2 wake and if you read down further in between some other posts, you can see what ballast he's running. Hes got about 1500 lbs going with 3 adults.
