can it be done, yes. Wouldn't recommend it. It is Extremely dangerous, not skydiving dangerous but smoking in a pool filled with gasoline dangerous. Either buy an inboard or even better find a friend w/ one.

yes, we could surf successfully behind our outboarder, but we have hydrofoils on the engine, so that the prop is mostly covered. this isn't enough to us, we are developping a cage that will fit around the prop to prevent contact with the dangerous part of it. by the way, monoxyd intox is much less on an outboarder, the exaust goes though the prop and the dangerous gas comes to the surface ten to twenty yards behind the boat... other accidents, like hiting hard parts of the boat may happen in any tipe of propulsion. even on jet boats you are never out of risk...
last remark, use spacial handels, boarding and skiinghandels are much to big and the risk to be hung is big. best are thik ropes without any handel at all.

richard, chances are you havent wakesurfed yet...
it can be done..however, very, very dangerous (the thought of it gives me the shivers)...

fyi, there are spots in the pocket of the wake that causes acceleration and will bring you very, very close to that prop (ie on top of would be accurate)...it can be done, but there is literally no room for error if the rider was to manuver or fall forward... there have been a couple times when we have ended up on the swimstep (everyone is a pretty good rider)..

hope that helps...

Mike,
Is that one of those presents you give to the wife when it "really" is yours? We all know what the "wife's Canon" is really for.

The one Mastiff is 180+ pounds, the Neo is soooo clumsy and I'd be chasing the Maltese around the water (he loves it)

So....No

Denise....is that Dane a puppy still??

Have you heard about HOD. Look it up, you'll never jump your Dane again. Buddy of mine's dog got it. Think of 2 week of holding the dog to crap and hearing the cry's of pain cause the bones bend due to the weight of the animal and the fact that the bones have not hardened yet.
