It broke as my buddy was cutting in for a tantrum. Luckily he wasn't hurt.

Anybody have this or something similar happen?

I would still to the traditional handles. I've never had one break. Sorry, that really sucks.

A few times a few weeks ago actually. My buddy did his wakeboarding run, no issues. I go to do my run, the rope snaps about 15 feet from me. We tie it up, same thing, try it one more time with a better knot, and it works fine. Replaced it next time out. Not a fun experience.

Yeah I had a few ropes and handles both break. Freaks you out pretty good when it happens.

Nothing like floating in the water wonder wtf just happened with both bindings still on and your board floating away, that happened to me on Sunday. I can still feel it.

Wait what? Your bindings were still on and your board started floating away from a rope break? That sounds more like your bindings were really loose and came off or the screws sheared off. I'm curious now, wtf did happen there?

Sorry man I should have been more clear, it wasnt from the rope breaking. I was blasting BS indy 180s into the flats and my homie told me I should try a Mute (Vandall Style) to blind. I took a raley cut at it, passed the handle, totally anticipated landing and caught my heel edge something fierce. When I landed I snapped the board which blew open the heel edge this caused a very abrupt sudden stop. I go bucked harder than I ever have before. I ripped both bindings off the board completely, inserts and all.

I know it hurt but man I wish you had that on video.

It could have been crash of the year.

I wish I had some video too! It would have been fairly epic, it was just me and my buddy riding. He said I basically disappeared with really no splash, he thought I hit something in water like a log.
