Whats up everyone! So i jumped out on a 2009 Ronix One yesterday and it was amazing. I have the option now to trade a board i have for a new 2008 One but i am unsure of the size i wanna get. I am a pretty big kid about 6'3 220. I was ridding the 142 and it felt good. All of my boards have been around that size. Do you think it will be beneficial to my riding if i step up to the 146?

I say go bigger! I am about 5'9 150 and used to ride a 134 Marius, and recently switched to the 140 Marius. Lets just say I will never ride a small board again, and am loving riding the larger board. It pops harder, rides more stable, lands softer, feels solid under my feet, and allows me to pull off sketch landings that the 134 would have left me in the water.

the only downside to the longer board is that it is more difficult to spin. It takes longer to get around

I have tried larger boards and for me It just feels like I'm riding a canoe. I'm 6' 185 and ride 138. 141's and 142's even though it's only a slight difference just feel big and heavy to me. So I would say ride what's comfortable to you not what people are saying.

does a bigger board land softer? I am abut the same size as jruss and I ride a 141 I would like something a little easer on my knees

Bigger boards should land softer because there is more surface area displacing water when you land, however, it will also depend on the board shape.

For larger riders I would suggest a board with a larger spine in it, which also make for softer landings.

Man, go with the 146. You'll love it. I'm 6'1 and 180 and I was riding the 143 Covin for the last 2 summers, until I busted it last week. Now i'm getting the Viva, and it's gonna be a 144. More solid landings and big pop. Also, boards are getting so light these days, the whole "swing weight" thing I don't feel is really much of an issue. I'd go big.
