I'm 57 years young. Wakeboarding is an awesome sport that created some of common ground for my kids and I. They rip and I try.

Hey, I meant to write half my age. I guess I am getting old. Too many face plants and head shots, huh.
Gordo, Right about the kid thing. Best kids I have seen wakeboard with us old farts. A good time for the whole family IMO.

Jim/Gordo - The wonderful thing about wakeboarding is bringing people together, it's brought my older brother and I together and I always hear and see how it's brought father and sons together, fathers and daughters and families in general ... wonderful, wonderful thing of the sport!

I actually found a picture. Although the shot is out of focus, you can rest assured I was focused at this moment. I find the landings are more difficult as the years go by. At any rate I'll be 58 in July. I hope I can avoid the faceplants this summer.

Jim and Terri, I can't tell you the fun my wife and I have had with our kids while onboard one of our boats. Watersports and boating seem to bring families together.

I'm 36 going on 80!

It is just now starting to become apparent to me that I need to work out more. My body just can't take the abuse that wakeboarding dishes out. Every year it's something new.

This off season I am going to get serious about a training program so next year I can grab my kahonas and land some of those inverts I've been trying and hopefully not break anything.

I'm 35 1/2 but when I hang out with Umali I'm in my early 20's.

48 and still hoping to land a 360 some day. I have given up on trying to get inverted... at least until next summer.

Almost, 29.55.

I WISH I could get my dad out there. He'll be 63 next year and says he'll try it if he looses some weight, but I don't think it will happen.

You guys are definitely inspirational!}

Turned 40 in May. Rode a skateboard for several years in jr.high and highschool. Alot of slalom skiing for a few years after that. Then the focus switched to family and work for about the past 15 yrs. Picked up snow boarding last Jan. Went on two more trips in Feb. & Apr. Test rode behind a wakeboard boat in Sept. (for the kids), first time to step in a wakeboard. Bought the boat, a board for myself, one for the wife, and one for the kids. Been on the water at least twice a week since then as long as the weather holds!
It would have sucked to have never got back on some kind of board because I thought that I was "too old for such things".
When the nieghborhood found out that I had a wakeboard boat, all the kids wanted try the sport.
Is a great way to get the family together and get respect back from my brain damaged teens since I ride better than them and most of thier friends. Don't know how long that will last though?!

Ya, One of the other 30 somethings above (Bobby Mucic)is taking his boat up to Nacimiento over the New Year. We hope to get it on ethe water if the weather lets us. Nothing like starting off the new year right... which is behind the boat. I think I have wakeboarded on New Years day 3 out of the last 4 years.
