I have a dilema. We own a 2008 Mastercraft X1 and an old bayliner ski boat worth €15,000. We were droping in the X1 to be fixed because the cruise control is broken. The dealer mentioned that he had an X2 (07 or 08). He offered a trade in that if we gave him the X1 and the Bayliner (which we're trying to sell but can't), he would give us a nearly new X2 as a straight swap. I wondering what your opinion on this. We are also exploring other options such as trading a yacht (which we're also trying to sell) that is worth more that the X1with the Bayliner. Is that a good deal?

Depends on the engine, options, etc on the 2 boats. But getting rid of a boat you can't sell is definitely worth something and the equity from the bayliner will depreciate less in a MC. Others here will chime in with real wake comparisons - what are your primary uses/needs for the boat? Also, for opinions you could try posting on www.tmcowners.com

Keep the X-1. That X-2 wake is far to finicky. Went out on an 07 X2 and was highly disappointed. Great style, bad wake.

It depends what's important to you in a boat. If your priority is the wake, and don't care so much about storage or interior space, X-1 all the way. The X-2 is wonderful boat, incredible space for a 20' boat, one of MC's best sellers (while they don't sell very many X-1's now). But the wakeboard wake is far inferior to the X-1.

I found out that the X2 is the 2008 version. Both boats have 350hp. Here is a photo of the X2: I will try to find specs soon

depeds what your main use is. personally, I'd keep the X-1. X-1= smaller with a better wake, one of the best out there X-2= roomier and more comfortable

I have the X2 and have added fly high kit and the wake is one of the best out there. So for $500 more you can have a great wake! My buddy has an X1 and he prefers my wake over his now. You decide and test drive it yourself.

Ye. I'm getting it off johnny. It's the exact same boat that was used in Nationals. The only time it has been used is at nationals and the few days before it when we and pete stewart used it to practice. Whenever we use the X1, we do feel a litlle cramped because there isn't enough storage even though there's usually just 6 of us using it.

Get the X2 and lose the MC cruise to upgrade to a VDIG. Youll never look back.

It would be a straight swap. Either the yacht and the bayliner for the X2 (my preffered option), or the X1 + the bayliner for the X2

For me, the quality of the wake is not my biggest priority because I know hat the wake will be good. My biggest priority is being in the boat and having room to breath without triping over people.

I would go with a bigger boat then. Hows Dublin? I was in Tralee(sp?) a year ago. Loved that place.
