Malibu 247 with Tige tower and custom paint

I went to Lake Powell for a few days with some buddies of mine and their buddy has a 247 LSV that he painted and put a Tige tower on. He didn't like the Malibu choices so he went with something that he did like. It was a nice boat, I'm sure it would make some of the brand battlers a little heated to see mixing like this but to me it looks pretty good!

I actually quite like the tower on there....

God awful paint scheme though I'm afraid, really not a fan. Would have been better all white and blue IMO.

Each to their own though, nice to see people being original.

That's a good combo. BTW that's a new malibu tower and has nothing to do with Tige, malibu didn't copy anything

sorry but that thing is so ugly imo. I think the illusion tower has alot to do with how a 'bu looks. But hey different strokes for different folks

Nice nu bu - unfortunately it still has the Tige racks on it which are shaped in the Tige "wave" logo! HAHAHA! Personally I think the illusion tower makes the Malibu look ugly (just like it does the new Tige's).

I like the paint scheme, just because it is different, and does not look like every other boat out there. I am not a big fan of the Illusion tower. Had a couple choices when I bought mine. Went with the Skylon, and love it. (profile pic).

Buzz, nice looking boat! He needed a tower that would collapse below the windshield line so it would fit in his garage and was able to get that with the Tige tower. He had a hell of a time getting them to sell it to him though, I guess the MC dealer told him no when he wanted to purchase their's.

tower looks good...I could do without the paint scheme, but like every one else, to each his own!

As far as the illusion on the bu's, IMHO-i think they would look MUCH better if the tower and windshield profile lines were a little more in line with each other, not bagging on the bu's they are pimp rides, just think as far as looks and for as much R&D they put into those things, they would look sexier if the profiles lined up a little better.

That boat is deffinately not my cup of tea by any means. I think the illusion tower is the best looking tower on the market and nothing should ever be out on a bu but it. But that's what is great about this country. You can pretty much do whatever you want to make your toys look however you want

The paint looks like lots of the off shore style boats you see at Havasu. Lots of the go fast boats there have the backwards flame style paint job's.

they made it soo gross this year.

I love how CC, Tige, etc. etc. "copied" malibu's tower and theirs all look better now

I think to boat looks cool but I prefer the look of the Illusion. Doesn't Sampson make the older Tige towers? Couldn't he have just got it from them?

He took an aluminum bit with the die grinder and just ground out the factory tige rack and then zip tied the rubber guards back in. The ski fits in there snugly and then rests against the tower perfectly.

I think the whole thing looks pretty bad. Don't understand throwing down 70k then spending another 10k to make it look like a hot rod custom.

malibuboats4, yes it does. It means that the combined price tag of boat + trailer is more expensive then a tandem axle trailer. A triple axle Extreme can be $8K+ alone.

Yep, triple axle extreme plus the boat has the 8.1L in it and an optional 90 gallon fuel tank, heater, shower, etc.

The tower speakers are Focal's in Samson can's, they sound pretty good around the boat but they weren't super loud while wakeboarding. The sound system as a whole sounds awesome (all Fosgate amps and speakers).

Wow, a Malibu 247 that I actually don't like. I didn't know there could be such a thing, being such a fan of the boat. Very interesting how your friend was able to ruin one like that. Golf clap. Did he do any research to see if this was a good decision? Is he going to keep it for eternity? Fine. If not, and he plans to move it after a few years, he done f**ked up his otherwise nice boat.

The recipe -
Take $75,000, a total dismissal of any concept of resale value and mix the following ingredients:

1 part MB
1 part Calabria
2 parts Tige
3 parts Malibu

... thus resulting in a witches brew of what I like to call "Do Not Want".

yeah i really do like the new tower over the stock. but the paint really does suck. if they got the paint right it would have been a really tight boat.

G is correct in that the graphics look like they belong on a ciggerette boat. I love Bu's and am starting to really like Tige boats but this one is a little out there for me. The tower is not bad though

I'm a Tige guy and I hate this tower.
I had those exact same graphics on my first car.
It was a race-car bed, I was 7, and my roommates (rents) got it for me.
